Voice Comms not working for anyone in Comp

Team chat was not working in competitive or quick play.

Yeah lost voice comms an hour ago, restarted, still gone, then played Arcade game and it came back, played another 3 comp games then it disappeared again. It’s really hard to make callouts with the voice chat system is broken.

All of the following intermittently tonight:

Team chat text can’t enter.

Team voice comms not working.

Game audio died but voice comms stayed. Not sure if that was unrelated.

Just tested the voice chat service in-game and it looks to be working at the moment. Are y’all still having this issue and is it only happening in competitive?

I stopped playing Overwatch for tonight because I couldn’t use team chat or group chat in game. Without microphone use, there’s not much point playing (especially in Comp.). I had teammates and friends with the same issue tonight. I couldn’t submit an official ticket for this online, because that wasn’t working either. Please fix the chat issues ASAP, it kills coordination.

I am also having a problem getting into team chat this evening/early morning. Group chat seems unaffected.

So you’re just agreeing with his struggles instead of finding a solution. Sounds like any companies support.

I don’t work for Blizzard. I’m commiserating and letting support staff that monitor this forum know that I am also experiencing this problem.

Last night I experienced voice chat issues in both comp and qp. However, comp seems to have the most issues.

I’ve experienced the team chat issues and I’ve watched a number of streamers have the same issues. This seems to be happening about every other game. I’ve only played competitive.

Same issue here, on 2 computers. Voice worked just fine match before then stopped. Mic is perm muted “slashed out” cannot be removed by clicking, restarted game, PC, and reinstalled all sound drivers, changed all settings back to default and nothing, can type in party/group/local just fine. Tested headset and drivers in skype/discord and all is working properly. ANother team mate in the next game had same issue, is this an overwatch issue or user issue.

If y’all are still seeing the issue can we get your Overwatch.log file? This can be found in the Documents\Overwatch\Logs folder. Go ahead and copy and past the contents into a response here. When doing so, format it by encasing it in a set of ~~~ like so:

Hey guys,

We’ve reset the voice servers and done some other maintenance. Try using voice again and see if the issue persists.

Having same issue still, can’t join voice chat. EST 7:11 PM since I just patched to newest at 5pm EST.

edit: I think my system time was off? I fixed that then it connected to the servers

Replying back to close this one out permanently - the issue we were looking at in this thread previously seems to be resolved now. Contacts on voice issues are back to our normal level and the server stats we saw the problem with earlier show everything working normally again.
