Voice chat not working

I am coming here because ticket replies are beyond long.

The last couple weeks of OW1 and still right up to today in OW2 my VC is broken. I have changed nothing in my PC hardware.

I autojoin team chat but then after about 10 to 15 seconds I just “leave”. Then if I manually rejoin, it says I join but no one can hear me and I can’t hear anyone. My mic icon turns grey with a line through it.

I have disabled the SIP ALG settings in my router. I have tested voice chat in Rocket league, Fortnite and Discord, all working normally.

Overwatch is the only app having issues.

I have tried different audio gear, I have disabled every audio device (input and output) other then a single device I wanted to use for VC.

Nothing I have done works.

Right now I’m averaging about 8 to 10 days per reply from tickets…So that is basically useless.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem on my Series X, i discovered the reason for this is, i was using a Digital Optical Audio cable with my Astro A50s. It appears that Voice chat doesn’t work over digital optical audio. I removed the cable and used usb audio and voice chat works just fine. Hopefully they fix this because USB audio isnt as good as Digital Optical.

Glad you found a fix for your situation. I am using an audio interface via USB. I might try changing out the USB cable and port but I don’t think that will help since my device works with everything else on my computer.

Blizzard seems completely uninterested in fixing stuff like this. I have had a ticket open for 2 weeks and no reply lol.
