When logging on and joining groups sometimes error -1002 pops up and I am unable to hear the group and perpetually remain on mute. I haven’t found a single fix for this. My Xbox console setting are set up fine as voice chat usually works eventually even with the error. However, when it doesn’t it doesn’t resolve itself no matter how long I stay on, or how many times I leave and rejoin the group.

You’re not the only one, I’m affected by whatever this bug is too. I used to have a method to fix it by going into the practice range to fix it, but it seems nothing can fix it as of right now, I haven’t been in a voice channel in a couple days. I’ve also seen another post titled same as yours within our timeframe. Hopefully, Blizzard realizes this quickly.

I’m having the same issue. Ik it’s not my headset, my settings are good, I’ve tried everything. I love this game dearly but having no voice chat makes the experience for me (wins, losses, custom, arcade, comp, etc) suck tenfold. Not being able to communicate and yap in comms regardless if I switch to group, team and back, nothing works. It’s frustrating. Sometimes the error would fix itself, but recently, it just stopped working completely. I haven’t been wanting to play as much since. I get that blizzard is “trying” yet it feels half assed.

Ive had this same issue nonstop for months, will randomly work and stop working without warning. Ive tried everything. Let me know if you find a solution, because i can no longer play with friends because of it.

I am having the EXACT same problem. I’ve been calling it game chst jail. And i am so frustrated over it. I want blizzard to fix this already

Before the nee season, I used to be able to connect by a lot of trial and error, but now i have spent a couple hours try to get it to work to no avail. I enjoy playing this game with my friends and its one of the few games I can play with them, and this just makes it harder to do, and its JUST overwatch no other game.

No idea, I’m a forum volunteer and there hasn’t been any official announcements about troubles with voice chat. This leads me to believe that some networks might be blocking it, which was the case for the player.

I noticed the same issue it was after I joined a discord party and ever since I have been unable to use team chat or group chat. The error says it’s my Xbox settings and I’ve tried everything to ply around with it. Nothing has worked for me and it’s really frustrating.
