Voice Chat Nameplates and Icons Not appearing

Since OW2 released, I’ve been having issues with nameplate icons and such appearing on my client. I have no clue who is talking at any point in time. I can talk, I can hear them. There’s nothing wrong on that end. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, scanned & repaired. I’ve tried going windowed, borderless window, fullscreen. I’ve turn on and off the option for nameplates. I’m not entirely sure what is causing this, but it gets kind of annoying when people are talking to me.

Guess we’re the only 2 with this problem

Seems like it, total L that no one helps either. They’re rather answer the same question 100 times than answer someone with something new

I found a solution for my part : I had turned up the “Voice Chat Volume” option. Maybe try that?

Im having the same issue

Same issue here. What’s weird is I saw the chat icon show up twice in a game then disappeared the rest of the game.

Ever since the latest update I’ve noticed this happening to me as well. It’s not like the people that are talking are quiet or anything. It just doesn’t show the portrait.

Same issue. It’s really frustrating on support. Random voices making callouts that I can’t act on, and it’s not like anyone uses pings or presses X anymore. Except spammers, they’ll spam I need healing at full health.

same boat as well! i noticed that my nameplate only comes up when i select “mute mic” but after i unselect it, back to the same issue. being unaware if i’m speaking or not during match voice chats drives me insane!

Same issue here. Someone have a solution?

Same issue here, can’t push the volume up more or it’ll destroy my ears

after many hours of search i figured it out! its an option that can be disabled in settings. Why blizzard secretly adds features to the game is beyond me. Almost frusterated me more than public career profiles lol.

its under sound>voice chat>nameplate icons

I’ve been having the same issue and even with the nameplate icon option turned on it doesn’t show people’s names. It’s unbelievable that months after the release of OW2 I’m still having this problem.

Does nobody have a solution? This thing has plagued me for months

also having the same issue which as a streamer/content creator, it makes it hard for viewers to follow along as well.

Same problem, but am getting abuse in voice comms for playing certain heroes and cant report them because I dont know who is saying it, so guess its voice comms off from now on, such a poor quality take over this Activision has been.
