Voice Changer in OW - Banned Programs?

Wanna know for future…plans… if using Voice Changing apps will get you banned, such as Clownfish.

It doesn’t get you banned as it doesn’t affect the game, just your mic.
Also is that a trap I smell owo nani oniichan baka desune~ >w<

It shouldn’t. It doesn’t give you an advantage, so it doesn’t constitute cheating.

It maybe annoying to some people, but that is not the reason for ban. Only a reason to this player to mute you lol

I don’t think so. I tried to use it once (for an actual social experiment - not to annoy people, don’t worry lol), and I never received an email warning or anything for it.

Granted, I couldn’t get it to work so only had it installed for a total of like 2 hours, but still. /shrug.

Some people use voice changing software for safety reasons. There are individuals that would like to play this game and have safety reasons that they need it. Now if they are using “silly” or “comical” voice changing software such as a a ridiculous “deep voice” thing that sounds like something out of an action movie. yeah, that really is not a good thing and a person should just mute them.

Is there a voice changer that makes you easier to understand?

The problem is it is hard to say.
Normally to constitute cheating the program has to “Hook” into overwatch.

So the question comes down to does the VA you want to use Hook into OW when the game is running or does it run as a totally seperate application.

If it hooks, it is bannable, if it doesn’t it is still iffy if the exe contains code which is scanned by the game which is similar to a known hack - which can result in being bannable.

In most part if it runs as a separate program though you are reasonably safe.

Yes it does. My little brother downloaded Clown fish voice changer last night and got banned today. He didn’t even use it in game he went into a lobby by himself to see if it was working and it didn’t so he uninstalled it. This is such BS, he has spent so much money on that account and grind to platinum, and was about to get 5 stars on his border. He also spent $50 on the Symmetra and Genji skins. Why would he get banned for this?!!!
