Visual Sound Effects / Accessibility

It’s been three years and Blizzard literally never added the visual sound effects or any resource that helps the players who can’t hear or can hear little bit but not completely clear. Of course, it’s really frustrating for some players especially deaf and hard of hearing players. How can they be aware when one or more enemies use their ults? What about the footsteps? Oh right, Team Fortress 2 has the subtitles for the characters’ voice lines. What about the Overwatch heroes’ voice lines? Do they have the subtitles for the voice lines? No, there is no subtitle settings for the voice lines and ult lines. That’s really ridiculous when Blizzard doesn’t start to open their minds and be willing to listen to people’s feedback. Honestly, their feedback can actually help Blizzard to improve their games including Overwatch. There are so many problems including no accessibilities for everyone who wants to play Overwatch well. I still don’t think they ever solve one of their major problems. Honestly, I don’t know.

Anyway, the point is visual sound effects may help the deaf and hard of hearing players be aware when someone uses the ults, voice lines, footsteps, etc. Fortnite has visual sound effects. Apex Legend has the speech to text and “ping ping stuff”. Really, that’s not hard to just provide the better accessibilities for everyone. It will take Blizzard for a few months to add it then clap, gg. There is a little deaf kid who is a big fan of Los Angeles Valiant and was talking about how the accessibility can improve Overwatch. Didn’t one of the Blizzard developers watch video(s)? Eh, I don’t know but I’m just gonna press “X” to doubt. No no, Overwatch 2 won’t solve everything. They can’t just abandon Overwatch with the bunch of issues.

I don’t remember exactly, Jeff Kaplan said he will work on the resources for the deaf and hard of hearing players like on February or something. What the resources will look like exactly? Visual sound effects? “ping ping thing”? More subtitle? How can we know when they will actually work on it? There are a lot of questions. Honestly, I wish I can play Overwatch better with the accessibilities. Gotta learn how to handle the tough challenges.

Developers, if you read this, all I can say… please? Thank you.
