Visor is an app that seems to have started a ton of controversy.

To begin with it was a site that allowed you to upload gameplay footage and it will do some “magic algorithms” a.k.a. check out the killfeed Tab Screen whenever flashed and end of game screen to compare estimated values.

What it does is check out the numbers when you flash tab and check out the different icons popping up on the Top Right of your screen.

The “Insights” given to you by the app are more reminders and wild guesses than anything crucial to win the next fight.

Is it Cheating:
If you consider your 12 year old Platinum genji main Brother checking out the game over your shoulders than yes.
Otherwise no.

PS:
They have had help from the Seoul Dynasty from OWL during there beginning stages of checking out gameplay VODs.
So an OWL Team is guilty of helping to develop a cheating tool or a practice tool, your decision to make.

From what I’ve seen. I’m pretty sure it gets 90% of it’s info from the kill feed.

By giving you information that is a skill to be able to analyze? Yes, lets just remove game sense as an aspect of skill in the game.

The advice is probably good advice for anyone gold and under:

  • Protect your supports
  • Group up
  • Be aggressive when the other team is trickling.
  • One team member is carrying hard.
  • Ultimate tracking.

I recognize some of those things when I see them (in game). But I see so many teammates that “play like bots”.

Forums are cheating. A person should be able to know the game on their own. Forums are an unfair advantage.

Personally I don’t understand all the fuzz about this program. Almost nobody who’s played the game for some time will need it. The most controversial feature apparently is the ability to tell when the enemy team has their ultimates ready. Everyone with a tiny bit of gamesense already knows when the enemy has their ult. If anything, all this app does is help newer players.

I still wish we’d finally see an official response to this.

So it’s giving someone an unfair advantage, a skill they wouldn’t have otherwise. Just like how aim bots give people mechanical skill they wouldn’t have otherwise.

I’m not worried about it, it’s just that in a sense, it’s cheating. It removes the element of one of the skills required in this game

I could track the same thing with a pen and paper tbh. It’s not like this is hidden knowledge, or anything that isn’t on-screen or readily available to the player.

Ultimate charge of the enemy team isn’t something that is given. It is something you have to learn to keep track of, if you can’t do so on your own you shouldn’t have that information unless someone on your team is keeping track or sombra has hacked them. It is a skill.

Except it’s an estimate based on inherent knowledge of the hero, which is gamesense that every player is actively capable of. It is not pulling any data which is not on-screen or readily available to the player.
