Very weird patch

the doom changes feel so random to me, i guess its fine for some niche scenarios but it just doesnt make sense to me that they are nerfing the hero that just got a new mythic skin

ashe and bastion nerfs: pretty great so no complaints there (ashe could have gotten hit harder though)

vendetta nerfs were expected, ill have to see how she feels on the new patch but i dont think taking damage away from projected edge is the right choice, that damage should have been taken from overhead strike but whatever

illari did not need damage, the devs clearly dont understand what she needs so thats a lost cause until the inevitable rework

okay we are buffing discord of all things? really? this doesnt help zen’s survivability this just makes him even more of a tank buster which given the current state of the role is not going to help queue times in the slightest

overall a kind of dumb but mostly alright patch just some weird questionable stuff in it

on another note i am interested in playing on hanamura again after all these years so thats pretty cool

I’m very unhappy about the zen buff cause I was already feeling like discord was just obliterating my health bar as tank and now it’s just going to be worse

yeah i was already getting really tired of playing tank this season and now im 100% not touching the role, blizzard seems to just hate tank players i guess

what i hate is genji getting buffed and symmetra getting nerfed. zen is a weird one in my opinion… buffing discord orb??

i didnt know illari got buffed, thats cool. she is a high skill hero so it helps with the noobies like myself… maybe ill play her since i havnt in forever.

i am neutral in the other things i guess. how i feel about the doom nerf is meh. dude usually suicides in my games

ill maybe play vendetta still to see how much it effects her. be weird not being a superhero anymore but i think i got good enough where i can still be effective. wonder how hard of a nerf it is. of course im not gonna make her my main. ill play her now and then

I like most of the changes. I’m happy to see any kind of nerf to Doom even though this one doesn’t seem like it’ll have a huge impact on its own. He needs general survivability nerfs more than anything. The Ashe nerf is a start, but she needed waaay more. He Bastion nerf is just right I think. Sym and DVa buffs are weird but whatever. Disappointed there are no other hitscan nerfs. Discord buff doesn’t make sense to me at all.

I don’t think Vendetta needed nerfs, but I knew she’d get them with all the complaints. If she had to get nerfed, I’m glad it wasn’t to her primary melee attacks, because those aren’t nearly as strong as people think. I don’t think the nerfs will satisfy the complainers, though, because she’ll still be getting melee kills, and that by itself is the root of the complaints.

Loooove the 2CP coming back for the weekend, though. I think it’s a way to gauge their viability for permanent return.

Those are pretty significant and a step in the right direction for nerfs, actual skill issue at that point

Because you play a different game than pc. Of course it’s different when she has a 5-6% lower winrate across all ranks. 7-8% when comparing gm pc to console. Just like bap has a stupid high gm console pick and winrate. Nearly 3x the pick rate as pc. Different game; different issue heroes. Mauga 3rd most picked tank gm console, absolute lowest on pc

Your console experience is different than other ppls pc experience.

dva getting nerfed i didnt like either but i guess her booster damage was good… i never noticed as dva since i always love to dive boost things with her. especially supports or the lone softie out flanking. maybe thats why i always just destroyed them?

I’d say that illari did need that damage revert. Especially after changes to health, the dps debuff getting stronger. Not to mention other supports surpassing her like wuyang being a more consistent artillery style hero, or juno and ana now being able to headshot.

All illari does is damage and honestly, I fear she will never evolve beyond that kit wise. Sometimes I swear this hero was meant to be a dps, like a retry on the whole soj rail but not as broken. But some where was rushed to support because they didn’t have one lined up.

power matrix is a dumb perk. the radius was absolutely massive for how easy it allowed him to get punch

empowered punch decaying after 20 seconds also that sounds fine? like am i reading it wrong or that means you have to hold punch for 20 seconds. no doom player is holding empowered for 20 seconds

I’m fine with almost every change in this patch outside of the lack of Sigma nerf(s). 17 damage might be the sweet spot for him.

It’s essentially targeting the strategy of holding onto it for the next teamfight after charging it the previous one.

I’m not some weird minority here. Console players are a massive chunk, very likely the majority, of the player base. There are plenty of console people complaining about her, too, that are playing “the same game” as me and shouldn’t be complaining.

That said, many of the differences between platforms are based on perception and naturally evolving play styles between different groups, not actual game balance. It’s the same reason you’ll see such different data between regions even on the same platform. Different groups of players see different things, which changes what they think do over time. It’s not all based on reality. There’s still a need to objectively analyze things on their own merits without always pointing to general stats.

buffing her damage doesnt really solve the issue with her core gameplay loop

its a nice buff for me as an illari player like sure im happy about it but dealing that damage never feels rewarding enough because i know that my healing is always going to fall short even if i get a pick

she needs positive feedback somewhere in her kit, whether that comes from dealing damage or maybe landing crits or even supercharging her pylon whenever she gets an elim

there needs to be something more there than what she offers currently

Not sure about majority, but yes they are a big chunk. Doesn’t change the fact that the platforms are pretty different due to input differences and aim assist, especially up close where it’s harder to aim with a mouse since a small movement and they are no longer on your screen. Not surprised at all hitscan is played even more on console, and the close range hero doesn’t do as well compared to pc. You still act as if other ppl can’t be right in their experiences because yours is different. We can both clearly see her at 59% winrate on pc. We both know that is out of line. That she is doing too well. Maybe gm console being below 50% is another story. But they balance based on pc, imo console should still have separate balance, and they should have done more with it.

nerfing doom doesnt make sense when strongest tank sigma doesnt get any nerf.

i can understand dva nerf but it should be with sigma nerf.

it seems this patch extremely decreases options of tank and forces tank players to use sigma.
