Venture patch live

Seems not many people noticed the Venture changes today.

Drill Dash

  • Cooldown now begins when the ability is used.
  • Cooldown is no longer decreased by half when used underground.
  • Cooldown is accelerated by 90% when underground.

Burrow

  • Added a 0.2-second grace period after the Burrow timer runs out where emerging can still be charged

I think this was bad idea vbenture was op still before the nerf and now venture is even more OP…they are wantign to kill the game

Oh snap. I just returned to the game last week and have been loving Venture. These changes sound juicy.

Making a hero less clunky allows better balance adjustments since they don’t have to consider awkward gameplay in their power level assessments

ventures damage is insane level of high i didnt like venture from the beginning in reality

Don’t underestimate the time in between shots. It’s more high risk high reward compared to hitscan. You have to be REALLY accurate because each shot matters more. At least in higher ranks. I can imagine the pain in lower ones

Oh, funny, I haven’t been on yet and didn’t even realize there was a patch. But I was playing the character just before this update and thought, “I wonder if it should just speed up the cd when underground regardless”. So, weird coincidence. I think this could be a good qol change or too good, idk. I’ll give it a try.

I will say that I usually end up with a lot of deaths on this hero vs team mates. Unless I play very super safe to avoid deaths, I usually don’t get much value if I don’t commit because of the damage is often not enough to secure the eliminations without a combo.

I think Sammy is right you really do have to hit those shots quite accurately despite the explosion hits. The overall damage output is good, you can end up with high damage at the end of a match. But without critical hits and just being below certain breakpoints like 25 damage below to kill someone with 250, sometimes it’s not enough if the enemy really plays well around you. It’s just junk damage padding the stats.
