Venture Isn't Even Fun With 2:1 And Victory

She melee-based with Zarya’s hit-box and Ashe’s HP, she’s trickier to balance than Bastion for that reason alone. There’s a million ways to solve this, but which has the least collateral for game balance? She feels so clunky that not even a clean win feels satisfying. Doom’s skill curve for a DPS healer’s impact. Zen is more reliable damage than Venture.

EDIT: Venture needs a Bugs Bunny skin. Get on that whenever a Looney Toons crossover happens.

I suppose they could give them bonus shield health for actually landing the ability. The trade off being that they should probably reduce the HP gain from merely casting the ability. They could also make Venture more fun to play against by giving them damage reduction when they dig instead of full invulnerability. That would make things a bit less lopsided for the Venture as well because they are highly vulnerable during the early start up frames.

Venture doesn’t need more survivability at all. Maybe they’ll revert the shield nerf at some point in the future but that’s it.

This is a good idea. And I’d go even further. No shields created if the ability doesn’t hit but beefy shields if it does.

She is like old dps doomfist her survivability comes from landing your attacks

They have a larger hitbox and a low health pool because that’s offset by their kit.

They have an ability to get in your face and start bursting you, and they have an escape that you can’t interrupt or stop once they’ve dug underground.

They aren’t survivable in fights because they’re meant to get in, get out.

venture is a set of pixels nothing more, nothing less

Personally I think Venture’s shield generation nerf was unnecessary, they’ve become overly niche since then.

I look at the shield nerf as just a different way to adjust their health since they should be considered a highly mobile hero with both abilities being mobility abilities. So instead of lowering them to 225 hp they instead took 10 shields off their abilities.

Not even their survivability is literally a button press if they use them to disengage or miss they’re still rewarded with the extra health.

I play Venture and thems has a pretty good survivability. I mean, thems can borrow underground and become temporarily invincible. What more could you want!

Just use they, using thems like that is more confusing then it needs to be.

A good venture can already be extremely hard to kill
She has a very hery good mobility and shield generation meaning she cant have as much HP as a regular big hitbox dps like reaper who is way slower and predictable.

Low health pool? Not enough survivability?

  • They the have 250 HP (like every non-mobile DPS).
  • They gain shield health for merely pressing buttons, with no execution requirement.
  • They have high mobility.
  • They have an ability that grants immortality.

They’re inherently tricky to balance because they’re entire kit and kill potential is based on making a target helpless.

Venture is easily one of the worst designed heroes in the game, along with Orisa, Mauga, Widowmaker, and Brig — all of which have had problematic history since their conception. Even their primarily fire is a CC.

undoing their recent nerf to start. I think they should just have 250hp/25 shield. Reaper and mei both get 300 and they fit a similar niche, both have invuln abilities and some form of self healing, while also having way better guns. I think it would be fair enough, maybe wouldnt even have to undo the nerf

this doesnt really track, both of reaper’s abilities are mobility abilities. Except venture needs their abilities to get kills and that limits their use as mobility a little bit.

Its a trade off : Ranged damage and survival vs Immunity + Shields.

Nothing needs to be changed.

No she doesn’t. She’s already DPS Doomfist with a 4 second invulnerability and free Shields on using abilities, rather than on hitting them. And she has the best form of CC in the game, in the form of a knock up. In fact, she has 2 knock ups - One of the leap from underground, and the other on Tectonic Shock.

Venture doesn’t need more ways to just nope out of a fight.
