Venture is slightly overturned

Definitely manageable with the right players and comp, but I do believe she is slightly overturned right now. She’s just a complete menace in the back line and is really tanky.

Also RIP widow, she died April’s 16th 2024 with the introduction of venture. Nearly impossible to play a widow into her

She died when got her scope charge nerf right after the grapple nerf and added falloff distance which all were in ow1.

Playing support against them is very tedious. Now pair them with Sombra and the match becomes completely and utterly insufferable. I don’t know if it’s just my luck, but I have already seen that duo a fair amount and it is unbearable.

A bit early still, but from what I have played she is definitely a little over tuned. I really hate the fact that she can boop people, like we dont have enough of those in this game, and her ult does too much damage.

Do you remember when OW2 was coming out they removed alot of CC moves because it annoyed people. Every hero that has come out since OW2 has had CC now except rammatra lmao.

IKR, its almost like the DEVs have no idea what they are doing lol. I played tank today and it honestly felt like I was playing late stage OW1.

Venture has a single cc ability on an 8 second cooldown and it’s a melee range knockback ability. Might as well call Ashe a cc hero at this point.

Well considering half the roster is nearly impossible to play into a Widow, can’t say I’m shedding very many tears for her.

Someone doesn’t know their CC effects. And no I’m not refering to Venture. I’m refering to the entire roster.

Both of their cooldown abilities are cc, along with granting shields on use.
Burrow and dash.

All abilities are CC.

And every melee has a minimal CC effect that is difficult to notice. But it is CC.

Even their gun which is explosive has CC.

Calling burrow a cc ability is a huge stretch. It has a knockback of a couple metres at most. Might as well call Reinhardt’s hammer a cc abiltiy.

Not like you can explode out of the ground and whack the entire team into the air…
Reinhardt’s hammer is less noticeable than that.

And the devs said they “wanted to reduce cc outside of the tank role”
Venture is complete opposite of that.

If they gave venture more hp then they would basically be a second tank doomfist.
The knockbacks are the same and venture gets shields from ability usage.

While the ability alone might be a stretch with the knock up alone, it also does reduce the CD of the other ability as well technically counting as an additional knockback. Not to mention the added mobility, but yea.

My main gripe with her is that the shields just happen giving her 325-365 effective free HP (Including underground burrow and ability spacing). Even if you wiff all your abilities or use them for escape, you also get shields? I feel like VERTICAL mobility, medium to lower CC, and an immunity is enough for most players already, though the short ranged weapon does make me think the shields are somewhat necessary.

If they wanna give her shields, make it so shields are granted on hit, atleast for the dash ability, rather then cast. This will make her easier to punish if over committing but remove the passive “Here ya go, free shields on your escape!” effect cause she basically has like 325-350 effective HP for a DPS with 2 mobility abilities. Kinda feels like old DPS doom but a bit slower in comparison, but with the immune.

Good joke. Widow is one of the best counters to Venture, they can do pretty much nothing against her.

If widow has good positioning, yes. If Venture flanks and gets in range of the unaware widow then it’s even more GG than an invisible Sombra jumping Widow alone.
