Valve working on 6v6 hero shooter

it may be placeholder?

I hope so.
Those look like usual valve style though, so i’m not sure.
I prefer the more cartoony look of overwatch over semi realism any day.

Biggest IF of the year really. We are seeing a lot of “Flavor of the month” games that start declining brutally fast later, like The Finals for example. And if we start going back and count things like Hyperspace, Vampire Bloodhunt etc …

… lets pray I guess

Probably because most of the tf2 competitive game are 6v6

I think its intentional. LoL used to be more colorful, but they also desaturated it few years ago.

I used to play gigantic for a bit, and that game was very colorful, which made it kinda visual clutter.

It will take something drastic for them to finally understand that 5v5 is a failure, and if that means losing players to other games then so be it.

I don’t want Overwatch to die, I just want to play the game I liked.

Lets see. If there is something close to OW I will play it and see how it works. OW needs competition and the Marvels games seems… ok… kind of but nothing all too big.

Valve could have something tho.

Never said that. It’s not the people leaving TF2 that are problematic. It’s the developers ignoring it when there are still people playing it (and buying items on the store).

TF2 has gotten a little attention with the 64-bit version but it’s still not the basic care it needs to function properly without bots.

It’s hard to be enthusiastic for any new Valve game given how they’ve treated TF2.

Would be the end of times. There’s no such thing as 3 on Valve. If that happens hf3 would exist and would mean the end of everything

Companies trying to make the “overwatch killer” attempt number 461910

Well you did say “since it means TF2 is even more dead” instead of “since it means TF2 is getting neglected more”. Kind of shifting the point from game quality to the number of players.

Thanks for clearing it up, though :+1: So not actually a bad take.

As much as I mock that as well, even I will say that if there is any company I could feasibly believe managing to pull it off, it would be Valve.

I dont think killer and rather finally a competitor. So far the attempts were either non-existent or just dead.

Games can die for different reasons. Valve is slowly killing TF2 through neglect.

If anyone can do it, it’s Valve. 100% interested. I only care about 2 things. It’s team based and 6v6.

Blizzard already made the overwatch killer with overwatch 2.
Other companies only make games that fill that space that this implosion left.

there wasn’t anything like TF2 untill the mod for quake happened which was OG TF

it was such a smash hit the modders were brought on to make TF2…

TF2 is a game that was an absolute cracker, everyone i know who played it loved it, and alot of folks who i know played it are still playing it… 15 years later

it has suffered numerous cheater and bot epidemics and still is, yet you can still find a public lobby with real players in less than 5 minutes

this is 12v12, not even 6v6

the game is so good 15 years later you can get 24 players in a lobby in 5 mintues…

now… yes, valve has done TF2 dirty, from the aspect of neglect for a game that still earns them massive amounts of cash, but, considering its age, its had such a supreme run, that anyone can admit that they have had more than their monies worth from this game, and its kind of understandable, if not acceptable that valve treats it the way it has done

but… if valve can bring, 10% of what they made with TF2 to this new IP…

it will be a hit, and will be well worth playing, and paying for IMO

Valve was legendary before blizzard was so it’s kinda weird calling them the new blizzard. Valve is just valve. Riot is the new blizzard imo.

Totally wrong. Blizzard was founded in 1991 while valve came in 1996.

Eww. No.

Its just a moba with more ppl.

But i am semi interested since valve hasn’t published anything in decades.
