It’s an interesting take on balance nerfing a ton of abilities/ ultimate uptime in the recent Valorant patch notes. Abilities/ ultimate’s that seemed balanced.
While Overwatch is out here buffing raid boss tanks like Orisa, Doomfist, Rein, Ball in recent patches
Leaving supports broken like Mercy, Ana, buffing Lifeweaver to be broken just to compete giving him overhealth on ultimate and 225hp with shields. Not removing the health regen passive.
Nerfing the high skilled snipers, while buffing the noob entry level heroes Soldier and Bastion.
While this is probably a standard AKJ (mercylover12) bait post, I’ll take it.
They are buffing “raid bosses” because the Tank role is really not that fun anymore and it miserable to play getting cc upon cc.
While I dislike Ana, I don’t get your fixation with Mercy and Lifeweaver. They are changing Mercy every patch and Lifeweaver is 100% not broken.
I don’t even know where to start, Soldier buffs came out of the blue but Bastion has been underperforming anywhere above Plat where people can half-decently aim. Widows dominate maps like Havana and Circuit Royale, where the win condition is “who has the better widow”. Widow should not be the only counter to Widow in any season, but in season 3/4 it has and she got rightfully nerf.
Its almost like Valorant devs are thinking or something, and then acting on those developed thoughts to better their game… weird.
Thankfully Blizz will never go down that road. Only thoughts they have are: how do we sap more money from our player base.
Nerf patch instantly signals incompetence. I have no idea what they changed, but it does not matter. Either they messed up earlier, or they are messing up now. I miss when developers actually balanced the game. Give and take, weight the values. Nah, let’s cater to the lowest common denominator instead!
Valorant devs play the game with their player base they get active feed back and shown to use it they are gamers and it shows. Can they be heavy handed yes but they try unlike ow0.5
Also, excludimg ults most abilites are either a smoke or a blind just flavored differently for each hero. And a few abilties cases, make it so you cant fight back for mutilple seconds in a game where the most common weapons one shot headshot(depending on range for some)
Both are hero shooters, so a comparison is indeed fine (some people in this thread have trouble realizing that just because it isn’t OW doesn’t mean you can’t compare).
I had to get some lead-lined pants to handle this thermonuclear hot take. Scorched earth nerf patches are usually a reset button to address an underlying issue that targeted changes can’t address, unlike Blizzard’s strategy of scattershot nerfing whatever the devs don’t like this month.
