Valorant copied Sombra?

I mean it’s a cool game but as you can see it copies some abilities/parts from other games and now they are about to release a Mexican, purple, Stealth/invisible agent, hmmm where did i see that before?

But some people are saying that this game doesn’t have enough interesting characters and yet other games are copying aspects from it… :open_mouth:

(btw she looks like a result of the experiment of fusing Sombra and Moira )

Every game copies aspects from other games. Remember 2016 when the whole Overwatch vs Paladins thing existed?

Not to mention many aspects of Overwatch come from Team Fortress 2. Mercy, for example, is literally Medic with Resurrect.

It doesn’t matter if Valorant has taken some aspects of Overwatch.

Sorry but … who the * Beep * cares exactly?

If they are copying something from ow doesn’t that say something about overwatch characters that makes them good enough that another company feels the need to copy them?

I literally couldn’t care less about valorant.

I don’t care if it fails
I don’t care if it’s successful

I come to these forums for overwatch.

Wasn’t the bigger argument OW vs TF2 in 2016?

The only similarity between Mercy and Medic is that their healing beams latch to their targets. Everything else about their kits, appearance and personality are different.

Damage boost ( Kritzkrieg )
Healing ( any medigun )

Seems a bit more the same to me.

The visual design definitely reminded me of Sombra, I’m surprised they didn’t get the VA for Sombra to do her voice considering they got her to do another character lol.

Kritzkrieg isn’t at-will like Mercy damage boost.

Can we stop with the “x copied y” mentality? No one copied anyone and these comparisons are often seen through magnifying glasses.

It’s not like Overwatch’s characters are all that super original either. Not to mention how they’re all pretty blatant stereotypes.

Purple and stealth character are also a common combination ever since like… ever in video games, so it’s basically only the Mexican aspect that could be ‘copied’. But then again, stealthy Latina is also a pretty common trope in popular media.

Every character in Overwatch is riddled with stereotypes and tropes, this is the equivalent of ‘Simpsons did it’.

If it is true then we all know who’s the best.

Sombra’s gameplay is really unique and engaging. Not to mention her lore and backstory.

Besides, no one can replace the voice actress. Very few people actually care for their characters, her enthusiasm for the community is also a sweet cherry on top.

Hell, I’d say Moira is closer to The Medic by most metrics than Mercy is.

Look, guys! Overwatch copied Fortnite! /s

Seriously, people have the entire knowledge of the internet at their fingertips, yet they act like Overwatch is the first game ever made.
For each hero we have in this game I can reference something similar from even decades before.

She already is their voice actor as well just for another agent

Yeah… that’s what I just said lol

Yeah i don’t understand it either why does everyone has to compare other games to Overwatch. Like it’s almost impossible to create something completely new without making it similar to something that already existed before.

Before I clicked on it, I thought you were exaggerating.

Ehh. I’m not seeing ability similarities really outside of healing stream.

However, how they’re played feels extremely similar. In fact, that’s why I like Mercy from the start. Her whole playstyle and how to play her was very familiar and nostalgic to when I played the Medic in TF2.

At Paladins … greetings from Skye :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Ohh sorry, the Moira part comes with her sel-healing, lifestealing abilities. And that her invisibility might end up to be just like FAde. That’s why i said it.
