Pixelated images look archaic in 2025. Please update player icons, name cards, and other UI elements with vector graphics to ensure they are crisp and scalable.
lol, lmao, roflmao even
Why do you want to scale them up outside of the game?
There’s no way they can feasibly update every last piece of artwork in the game almost 10 years in, and I’m not even sure how many games (if any) exclusively use vectorized graphics in 2025, but it’s nice to dream ig.
Vector graphics are huge. it would greatly increase the size of the game file. Please dont.
Are you playing on a billboard?
That is literally the opposite of true.
Storing the color of every pixel takes more space then saying “draw a yellow circle.”
I’d go as far as to say your request isn’t impossible, but very low on the list of things that could/should be done.
Like they would change a menu that doesn’t look particularly ugly (but “needing” change), before even thinking about all that. Which is a concern to maybe 1% of the userbase? (Who is using screens that large on the regular?)
You’ve never actually made vector graphics then. Draw 1000 shapes to make a picture takes more than compressing the file into any other format specifically sized for the game. Your not making a simple circle, your making full portaits, and more. Thats huge, thats not one and done, thats a separate shape for every little piece of detail and then some. Where as you flatten a rasterized image and make it the size you need and you dont have a highly complex image because its pixel based. Keep that same image a vector image with the 1000’s of shapes, its huge.
What you are thinking is true for small undetailed images like logos, its the total opposite for complex images that can just be flattened.
I mean they aren’t wrong though. Generally speaking vector graphics are smaller file sizes than raster graphics. They also tend to have less color depth and don’t show shading and lighting as well.
The fact is that file size isn’t why we don’t need vector graphics. It’s because it isn’t really the right tool for the job. Vector graphics are great for some use cases but not really for this specifically.

Team Chaotix! They’re detectives you want on your siiiiide!![]()
we were talking about using them for profile pictures though. maybe not all but a lot of them are closer in detail to logo’s then full detailed artwork.
Size will be comparable if not smaller. I’m not asking to convert every existing player icon to a vector, but they could use vector formats for the new icons.
Go make your own vector images out of the existing icons.
It doesn’t take very long.
