genuinely the most underrated dps hero ever ngl, i only see echo’s in my games once in a blue moon, not sure why.
No thoughts, head empty.
I rarely see her and honestly, I’ve kind of stopped playing projectile heros and went all hitscan for a while now.
The fat projectile patch practically kills her once a hitscan enters the game. Her MASSIVE, GIRTHY, BROAD, WIDE, FAT, OVERWEIGHT, ASTRONOMICALLY SPACIOUS forehead breaks the game’s fabric so hard, she just has to catch every bullet.
been playing her more lately. When she works she’s really satisfying, it’s just unfortunate you’re only allowed to hypercarry one fight before they go quintuple hitscan. She’s one of the biggest winners from perks too which i think did a lot to make her feel strong without being OP like she’s historically had issues with.
On the receiving end, I think her stickies are really annoying, if only because 1) the sound and screen clutter is annoying 2) If you’re not one of the characters with an invuln, there’s nothing you can do about it anyways. (Yes I think the same thing about Freja’s)
She’s fun to play ![]()
225 HP makes her feel way too fragile. Not sure why her gargantuan hitbox has to suffer at 225 while Genji and Sojourn dance and parade the battlefield at 250.
Other than that, a lot of fun. She was one of the heroes I was most excited for, and is still a DPS I’ll pick every now and then.
If you’re in normie ranks like I am, I’d say it’s because she’s hard to pull off. I was crap with her when she still had 250 HP; at 225 HP, I don’t even bother.
The hp nerf, perk system and season 9 changes to the game hurt her a lot.
The competition got stronger while she got weaker is the long and short of it.
Echo’s ultimate being incredibly high ceiling and multi-purpose does detract people from playing her, as you need to be good on other heroes to get the max value from it.
she has a big blue forehead in every skin
Other DPS that out perform her with much less skill required. I rarely see her played and even rare to see her played well without the opposing team destroying her.
She’s just
There I guess
They’ll never buff her into relevancy because as generally unviable as she is, her bomb/beam combo already puts out an extreme amount of damage and can melt tanks.
Basic issues with Echo…
- She’s not very intuitive, so a lot of players tend to use Focusing Beam as an opener, rather than a finisher.
- Lots of players will use Sticky Bombs, but don’t follow-up with it.
- Duplicate is poorly utilized by a lot of players, and its more recent tweaks have basically crippled some choice heroes (notably, Tanks) for expanding, or demolishing defenses. Very little teamwork is available for the Damage-role, and Duplicate is more dependent on teamwork to function well.
It’s less this, and more of the fact that her design is difficult for the casual observer or player to understand. She’s not difficult to play, mechanically, compared to some other mobile burst-damage heroes (ala Genji), but requires fairly good game knowledge both on who she decides to Duplicate, as well as understanding her core loops; which really aren’t well explained or easy to figure out compared to some other heroes.
Most of the Damage-role still kinda struggle for relevancy, so the point is moot. Echo isn’t a bad hero and perfectly viable and competitive, but her fundamental designs aren’t that straight-forward, but not as oblique as Symmetra’s can be. Much like Brigitte, Junker Queen, Wrecking Ball, or Hazard, she’s built in a way that takes a bit of learning and time to understand, and isn’t exactly rewarding with the first few games.
Its free flight, right? The answer is free flight? Any hero who can literally fly should be put in the dirt as soon as their shot, though I could argue Sojourn should get a similar treatment. Genji often has to do more than Sojourn does with less effective tools, so I think his 250 HP is justified.
She’s insane.
She’s well-balanced though. She feels fair to play against.
She’s a bit of a specialist hero — nobody can just pick her up and pop off on her like, so it’s unlikely you’ll see her too often.
I see her in comp but never in qp i think i see sym more then echo and sym is rare for me to see
it’s such a fun character to play, i should definitely play it more. i like that you can have many different playstyles with her, and copy is just too fun an ult
Yeah same here.
With so many mobility added to characters especially supports.
I ended up being forced to play hitscan to consistently secure kills.
She suffers from the same issue other projectiles suffer from
Not enough consistent damage at safe ranges
Only viable in close ranges but the risk is very high
This is due to the mobility creep and burst healing/immos which has forced The hitscan archetype to be more dominant further weakening echos viability even with mercy pocket the hitscan can also get mercy pocket which balances that out in favour of hitscan
I’ve tried playing her, her projectile is too slow and clunky to play.
Other than that, echo requires you know how to play all the other heroes or at least have basics down on them.
Just play pharah //2short
