Feel as though a button to unselect hero in the hero selection screen would be good for competitive non-ranked games (custom games PUGs/OD games/OWL) when wanting to switch roles with someone in game, or accidentally locking yourself into a role mid game (yes it’s happened to my team before and im pretty sure it has happened in OWL a few times).

I guess its kinda related, the game needs to open up the MENU when you press escape at hero select
INSTEAD, after the countdown is done, pressing escape on hero menu SELECTS the hero you’re on and puts you in the game. This annoying programming has ruined various people’s accounts who were trying to make very specific playtime charts
I personally know by experience that you have to select a hero already taken and THEN press escape to get the escape menu to leave

Yes this is another thing, and im pretty sure this wasn’t always the case (could be wrong).
Well if you search the problem it appears in 2016 on the original forums so its probably always been this way
At least they fixed the bug where your hero got unselected at the end of the countdown for no reason
