Does anyone know if blue has ever responded to the idea of having an unranked competitive queue?
I think it would be great for players who want to tryhard without the stress of ranked. It would also be a great place for people climbing the ladder to learn new heroes in a competitive environment without hurting teammates SR in the process. Finally, it would be a great place for competitive players to warm up for ranked games and a place to play between seasons.
That said, I’m certain this has been asked many times before. Has there ever been an official response?
Not that I know of, and highly unlikely at this point.
Maybe back in season 1 or 2 or 3 when many people are still queuing ranked, but now that only the most dedicated folks play it, if you split that playerbase into two, the queues will get worse.
Blizzard is very averse to splitting players (hence why they maintain 5 modes in Arcade always), so they’re not going to risk adversely effecting the experience of their most hardcore fans.
You really think the Overwatch playerbase would take an unranked playlist seriously? I think you haven’t played enough Overwatch. It would literally be the exact same thing as Quick Play and I mean EXACTLY the same. You think pasting the word Competitive on it will make people try? You give too much credit to the Overwatch community lol.

I’d be ok with it, except I don’t know how you convince someone to play by the rules you know?
I think it’d be cool to earn like 3cp like you would with a ranked casual mode as well, giving people who would rather stay away from the competitive scene a chance to earn CP.
You can’t even accomplish that in ranked though. It would still be better I think.
I guess you can go on dreaming. The only thing this mode you wish for would be used for is practicing heroes. You would just end up with the usual 6 DPS composition. After playing that much Overwatch, you should know how it works by now.
Dreaming. Like dreaming about a LFG feature? That comes with a set queue type? Yeah, I’ll dream until… maybe tomorrow?
explain your reasoning? How would it differ from QP and Comp? What would be the middle ground in your opinion?
