Uninstalled, too many cheaters

There are WAY to many cheaters closet hacking in this game, talking mad crap, like they’re gods. Can’t take it and blizzard isn’t doing anything about it.

Sadly the genre of FPS is dying. Apex is dying to the same fate.

Definitely not dying, but definitely has had the most issues with cheating for decades at this point without much in the way of industry intervention.

The genre isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but it’s a bubble that will burst in time rather than decline gradually.

hacking in gaming will never go away unless it becomes a felony or even a misdemeanor lol… good luck with that tho.

only way for video game companies to combat it is to kernal zero everything when you run the game but… i dont know about that

Something drastic needs to be done. I’m 35 years old, been gaming since I was 12 years old, even competitively since 56k dial up days (Delta Force 2). I’ve seen it all, quite literally. I’ve even been on SpikeTV in the past and competed professionally. The things I’m seeing in Platinum lobbies is absolutely mind blowing. Flicks, reaction shots (consistently) that would make pros look pathetic. Followed up with trash talk.

It’s really really bad. So bad - that whatever has to be done, will be done. I think until that time comes, I’m done with FPS. They don’t make games like they use to. I remember back in the Delta Force days, you could call into novaworld directly and admins would pop in on that call and ban people. Those days need to be brought back.

In some countries like: China, Japan, and South Korea? Cheating in video games very much so will land you major jail time. And there’s news reports about it all of the time. It’s only in western nations where something like cheating in multiplayer games has become accepted, and thought very little of. Which says a lot about a myriad of things. But, I won’t go there.

I agree. I think FPS is just not trustworthy anymore. Sure, they can force a complete hardware whitelist, locking down your entire driver stack, ring0 etc etc. But it will become ever more invasive.

Plus you have this AI arms race alongside the cheat vs. cheat-detect. So it’s a mess all around, for basically PCMR to deal with, in an era when much of AAA is just going to console, cloud, or mobile (another issue altogether for M+KB pcmr mains).

Skill issue at best. Go on

As a master dps player who frequently smurfs in low ranks I have never seen a cheater there. I get accused of aim hacking every other game and so I feel like lower ranks are just quick to accuse anyone who hits a couple headshots of cheating.

Try to focus on improving rather than making up cheat accusations.

I don’t smurf but yeah, I also get lots of accusations of cheating and yet I’ve NEVER seen an actual cheater. I feel like these accusations are born more from paranoia than actual cheating…

It’s kinda funny actually sometimes I’ll ask them “Is my aimbot too obvious” and then their convinced im aimbotting

How do you even know when you’re against a cheater? The only time I’ve really suspected an aimbot was years ago in OW1 when a Sombra had suspiciously good tracking. Most of the time I just think “Oh, that was just a clean flick” or “Yeah, that was my fault for moving in a straight line” or something.

I generally just hit them with a “?”, beyond that the most I’ve ever responded to an accusation of cheating is by asking, “Have you tried not walking in a straight line? That tends to confuse my aimbot.”

watch yt “the wiggle” video. cheat devs are afraid of vangarde and features in widows like tpm20, core isolation, vm support. there is much that can be done but why nothing happens i dont know

I’ve played this game since OW1 release and honestly in all those years I can say I’ve seen maybe less than 20 cheaters

I too have been gaming since a wee lad. The “no cheaters” trolls are a full blown psyop to save face or enable their cheating behavior. It’s very clear there is a huge problem. Ignore the nay sayers. Every fps in the world has same problem. sad.

I’m not a troll. This game has the least amount of cheaters I’ve seen in any FPS game

Keep posting bro. Im 45 and have over 3 decades of gaming experience. I know cheaters when I see them and this game is chock full of nuts.

Im going to vouch for OS ID bans and server-SIDE only detection. Just because if the “anti-cheatware” exists on the client side. you can always extract it and you have the rest of the time in the world to decode it.

The cheat companies make TONS of bank off of this, so nobody should say “well its expensive” yeah. Look how much revenue they make. You can afford a few racks of server blades, chuck Solaris onto it, cluster and spend time running decryption tools from UBCD, KAL, or BT4 or 5.

Almost every PC multiplayer has people cheating or running some sort of config files(sabotaging), scripts, or hot keys. It’s literally just cheater vs cheater. I switch from console to PC sometimes. Online PC multiplayer games are a SH storm and not fun
