I won’t be back. Overwatch is bad for my mental health. People on this game are terrible to each other. It makes me be terrible to other people just playing it. Blizzard, you have created a game that breeds a toxic environment. Certainly, the community is at fault for it, but you as developer do little to nothing to create a better environment in this game. After playing other games for 2 months, coming back to play 1 match today, I realized my life has been better without Overwatch in it. Good luck, and I hope you can make this a better game for the people that still care.
Role queue has made the game way less toxic, also don’t forget to hide game chat from keyboard warriors.
I am sorry you experienced a lot of toxicity, but at the end of the day, the game didn’t force you to be that way, you chose to. I experience more than your average person based on the threads here and I am never awful to my teammates. And I hate them.
Either way, I am glad you were able to escape this purgatory.
Goodbye
Your playing a FPS game, expect toxicity.
Every game has some sort of toxicity.
Just play quick match then. No one cares in quick match.
It’s a shame that a game turned you into exactly what turned you off from the game, and I agree the devs could implement some better safeguards to prevent certain abuse and sabotages, but this is not an airport, there is no need to announce your departure.
It is a good move, good luck.
Just remember, you can’t control other players, and they can’t control you. I find nothing positive ever comes from voice chat or typed communications, so; it is better to have them off completely. Yes, it’s a less than ideal way to play the game, but sometimes it’s just better to pretend the people you are playing with are bots, and your expectations will be lower, and the game will be more enjoyable for you.
Okay then goodbye…
Yeah. And what makes it even worse compared to an average pvp game is that the toxicity usually comes from your own team rather than the enemies.
How?
Also nothing will make the game less toxic
OW can often make people stressed or feel other negative emotional states. It’s quite unlike any other game experienced. I’m not sure why the game pulls this off so easily.
I played competitive FPS in minor pro scene leagues etc years ago and often in my casual time, but they never tilt me like quite how OW manages to. lol.
I only log in for the events and to buy one-time skins to keep my skin library up to date.
Good for you, but chances are you’re going to run into the exact same issue somewhere ells, because there are terrible people everywhere. If anything, Overwatch is a good safe place to learn how to manage your own anger and stay level headed. You can’t control other people, but you can learn to control how you react and respond.
Finally a GOOD “I uninstalled” post.
Good luck in your adventures dude.
hahaha thats what a lot say and I strictly play this mode and yet you still find a bunch of folk in voice chat doing call outs and calling X person trash and telling me to switch off Sombra and go healer LOL.
Profanity filter?
Upping the abusive chat punishment?
Upping the leaver punishment?
Constant balance?
Not to mention the stuff already there previously like:
Avoid as Teammate
Mute
Voice chat is OPTIONAL
Block
Match chat is optional
The report system
They do plenty. Give them credit. You are the one at fault if you don’t use these systems to improve your own experience. Granted it can be a little harder than it seems.
go and play some ranked matches after watching some overwatch league u will get excited again with the game trust me
I don’t encounter much toxicity in Overwatch so I wonder what mode you’re playing or what you’re doing to experience this
This is clearly your first FPS game if you think Overwatch breeds toxicity and is one of the worst games in terms of toxicity.
