Unfair Respawning is an actual problem

If your playing orisa and you die, you have to walk ALL THE WAY BACK, at lowest speed.
If you die with tracer/genji/moira/rein (ect) you really only have to go half way and the rest you can just skip.

I’d ask for mobility abilities to be on cooldown once people respawn to make this a little more fair

(idk about lucio though hes weird)

So you want everyone to have their abilities disabled in spawn? Sorry but no thanks

A fantastic suggestion that’s been posted for orisa many times is letting her run after walking in a straight line for say 15ish metres. Shooting or using any ability returns her to.her normal walking speed.

Would be nice.

They should have a “horse” like paladins. Not necessarily a horse tho, could be an orisa :wink:

thats not fair. Heros with mobility shouldnt have a huge buff because they respawn faster (as in walk back)

All heroes should have the same health, damage, abilities, mobility, skill floor, skill ceiling…did I miss anything?

Just make Soldier: 76 the only playable hero. Problem solved.

This isn’t Quake champions bro

You want all heroes to have the same ability to make it back from spawn, so you want less differentiation. You want to remove one of the tools Blizzard has for balancing. Why not remove them all? You can’t have imbalance if we’re all soldiers.

Not saying that they shouldnt have the advantage, I’m just saying that the advantage they have is way to large. Theres a reason that heros that have to walk all the way back are less picked in pro play and its because

  1. they can join in an ongoing fight
  2. they cant contest points in dire situations
  3. It takes them much longer to do everything

You see this is part of the reason that lucio is so oftenly picked,
Also I’m only talking about getting back from spawn. Having it so that… lets say genji, has to wait eight seconds to skip part of the walk, he is still skipping part of the walk; however, if he does skip that part of the walk he could be in need of his mobility later.

Not try to get rid of that part of the game, the issue is that they are getting an actually pretty large advantage from just that, coming back from spawn

There is a reason they can’t just zoom back into a fight.
They are too strong during the first fight.

The “horse” idea fixes all these problems. It isn’t just for fun. It balances the fact that every hero has the same move speed until they use any other action other than movements or take damage.

Its actually pretty clever although I dont know how Overwatch could implement “mounts”

The only thing I could think of is a Overwatch logo disc mount like they have in HotS that every hero would stand on.

If they had this, maybe you could even customize it with your favorite spray or guild/clan (the game will have those at some point Im sure) logo or OWL team logos

Maybe you could even spend comp points to get a gold disc.

Also, it would be cool because you could be in 3rd person while on the mount so you could enjoy your skins more

you could even use victory poses on the mounts but call them mount poses and add some new ones too

Im telling you, mounts is the way to fix this problem

This would also solve the problem of getting the bad spawn on defense and being left to die pretty much because you now spawn right in front of the enemy team. This would give you a better chance to regroup.

ALSO

This would be a good way to shave off some time during the set up phase before a match because everyone would move faster so you could take off 15 seconds of set up time to make matches start faster.

Awesome idea, but at the end of the day it still is blizzard and they work very slow

Not true.

Lets look at zen who I think is a fitting example.
Zen in a team fight is doing about as much as everyone eles on his team, but it takes him a really long time to come back.
now lets look at lucio
Lucio in a team fight is doing about as much as everyone else on his team, maybe healing a bit more, maybe less damage (you get it). Once he dies its going to take him much less time to get back to point.

This overall would make lucio a better pick. If both characters are functioning on point at the same level of usefullness, and one can come back faster, wouldnt you choose the one coming back faster?

I’ve said for a while that heroes with an advantage getting back to point should have longer spawn timers.
