Unexpected Server Error Occurred

For approximately the past week, I have been experiencing repeated disconnects in Overwatch 2. While playing matches I am suddenly kicked out of the game and returned to the login screen with the message:

”Unexpected server error occurred”

The same issue also occurs when trying to log in sometimes. It displays “Entering game…” for about 5 seconds and then fails with the same error message.

I have already created a support ticket but I have read that bug report topics can be more effective of getting an actual person to take care of this issue.

I can’t progress the battlepass or participate in the event this way because I can’t play for more then 10 minutes before getting the same error again.

*As requested from GM Aestynurgue (via the Support Ticket) my ISP and general location to rule out a wider spread routing issue:

ISP: Deutsche Telekom AG*

General Location: Bavaria, Germany

Same I’ve been getting the same issue as well on my end for the last month with random disconnects in the middle of matches or I can’t even get into the game with error 208.001 messages constantly popping up, I’m not sure how to send a support ticket out myself so I had to also brought this up on the technical support forms hoping I can get some help with this issue, the only other thing I can do on my end is disconnect my Xbox account from battle net then reconnect it but it says if I do I can’t reconnect for 90 days.

Hopefully you can get your issue sorted out.

Do you also have the problem where you sometimes get the same error just while logging in? It’s kind of frustrating because the support via the ticket basically told me: “yes, there have been multiple reports about this but we can’t do anything about it right now”. So i’m just stuck with this specific problem until it just randomly starts working again or until they fix it…

Could be the AMS1 server from Blizzard. My post with details: 995363

You could measure a game session with WinMTR (which was also suggested by support) and analyse it with gemini or similar. When my game crashes I see that there are about 2-3ms delay and that it is caused BY the blizzard datacenter.
