Hello. I really need help with this thing. I’m getting desperate, and of course Blizzard CS is useless.
I’ll try to make it short, but there’s a lot of information that needs to be said.
If you want a “TL;DR” : can’t log into the game, seems to be 100% an issue on Blizzard’s end, but they will just dismiss my tickets with generic replies that serve no real purpose, and therefore I’m kinda locked out of the game. Need help.
So… the game always worked fine, but over the last few days, I’ve been having an issue where I launch the game, it loads up the login screen, I see the “Entering game…” stuff and all, and then… “UNEXPECTED SERVER ERROR OCCURRED” in big red bold letters. After a few seconds, the fields to login manually appear, so I try that, but still the same error.
It’s important to note that before creating a ticket or even coming on here, I googled the error to see what I could do. I did everything I could find: scan & repair, clean full reinstall, flushing my DNS cache, checking with my ISP, and whatnot…
But then I did a test: my girlfriend and I are in the same gaming room. We both have our own computer, but those computers are connected to the same Internet, through the same router (and it’s a wired connection, in case it’s relevant). So I tried to connect my account on her computer and launch the game; didn’t work, same error. But the “funny” thing is she can totally connect to her own account, and – believe it or not – on both her and MY computers.
So, maybe I just have no idea how networks work, but I feel like if there really was an issue on my end, she would have the same issues as me, if not on her own computer, at least on my where I do have the issue… but she doesn’t. She can totally play the game fine on both computers.
So that’s when I decided to open a first ticket, saying that I tried everything, and that considering how everything works for my girlfriend from the very same computer where it doesn’t work for me, it HAS to be something going on with my account on Blizzard’s end (and I strongly believe this isn’t a ban situation, because not only are there no reasons why I would be banned, I didn’t receive any e-mail or notification about a ban, there’s no “account suspended” thingy in the launcher, and the error message clearly states “server error”).
Now comes the “fun” part: Blizzard responded to my ticket in a few hours with what felt like a premade bot reply, suggesting some troubleshooting tips, the very same I tried just before, even though I clearly stated that if there was an issue on my end, how come my GF is able to play? So that’s what I replied to them: I said “sorry, but I think you didn’t read my initial request. This clearly seems like an issue on your end, so I really need someone to look into it”. But then they replied with another premade reply, AND THEY CLOSED THE TICKET, saying that I can simply reopen it if I still need help.
But another funny thing is when I tried to “reopen” it, the button just led me to the previously closed ticket, without any option to add anything to id.
So I made a new ticket, referencing the previous one, and this time saying that it really felt like I was talking to a bot that was only programmed to send the same premade replies every time, and that I’d like to speak to a human. Believe it or not, they sent the EXACT SAME REPLY (verbatim) as the generic troubleshooting one from the previous ticket.
I replied once again that this was unacceptable, since I was having an issue that’s clearly on their end, on which I therefore had no control on my end, and that I really need somebody to look into it.
They replied a few minutes ago saying that there’s nothing anybody on their end can do, and to try asking for help here, on the Overwatch forums.
Are they for real?!? Don’t they have any tech support guy in their offices who can analyze a specific account to see if something is glitched or whatever?!
So here I am, asking for help on the Overwatch forums, because apparently their own team aren’t help to provide any support for their own product.
Did anyone ever experience something like this in the past? Did you find any fix?
I really miss playing, and even though it’s not that big of a deal, I’m currently missing out on the last week of Anniversary; I kinda had fun grinding the challenges, but I haven’t been able to play the game for like 4 days, and I kinda feel “trapped in a corner”, not being able to fix it by myself (considering it doesn’t seem to be something on my end at all), but also not being able to get anybody on Blizzard’s side to look into the situation.
It is really frustrating to depend on their service, which service is nonexistent.
I know Overwatch is now free, but I paid the first game, and I did purchase a few skins in Overwatch 2, and I’ve also been paying a monthly WoW sub since like 2007. I’ve given them a lot of my money (I know, that’s on me, but I still wish they would take it more seriously when the people who give them money actually need their help…), and until today I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s infuriating.
So, basically… is there anything I can do to fix this? Is there any way to get a real human at Blizzard to look into my account? Or is my Overwatch journey over, and I should just uninstall the game and move on?
Sorry for the long wall of text. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
