Unexpected Server Error Occurred

I can launch the game, but I can’t log in to Overwatch2 and keep getting this error: “Unexpected Server Error Occurred”
It needs me log in in-game again and again :frowning:

[Edit]
TS Done:
-I’ve tried switching between Americas/ Asia server
-Scan and Repair
-Restart Blizz/ Ow

Platform: PC
Account info: I did choose PC account as my main account for merging (I’ve choose before ow2 is released)

Same error, but I was already in a game. After it kicked me with that error I’m back in a queue of 40 000…

Same. 4 times now. I expect these are just growing pains with the day 1 servers.

Same here plus there’s like 30k in queue its just crazy i can’t get in i was so excited

Same problem here. I’m excited to check it out to see what has changed since the first beta but I can’t get in. Must be a huge spike of players coming on and the servers can’t handle it yet.

This is error is so frustrating. Its affecting my console/pc accounts. Now its gone from the error to just leaving me at 0 players ahead in the queue

Hey guys! Blizzard CS just posted a tweet about this issue, they’re investigating and fixing now.

Got back in, kicked again and now Server Connection Failed…Retrying perpetually. So we’ve gone backwards.

Looks like 40K is the queue limit so if its more than that you probably sit in this retry loop.

This same thing is happening to me. I recall the last anniversary event had similar errors for me, to which I “scan and repair”-ed my game files and was able to login after that.

I am now running the “scan and repair” option (in the settings next to the “Play button” in Battlenet Launcher) and will try logging in after that. I will update if that helped resolve this issue on my end.

Edit: After “Scan and Repair”, launched game and started at 40000 in queue. Once at the front of the line, it ran a loop between “Searching for Game Server…” and “Game Server Connection Failed… Retrying.” at least a dozen times before eventually bringing me back to 30000 in queue.

Any fix? I made an Alt Account and that worked but my Main is still giving me that error. Seems like an account problem-

Been looking into this and apparently it’s people who combined their console version with the PC version (as they told us to do!) Who are having this issue.

I’ve been completely unable to log in at all due to this bug. The queues are bad, but at least if it wasn’t just an error at the end then it would be worth the wait.

I wonder if there is a way to un combine them so we can get in.

Unlinking and linking accounts has no cooldown. I tried unlinking Xbox and my game still didnt work. Managed to link it back-.I dont think linking is working at the moment. We just have to wait for an answer :frowning:

There is nothing you can do. If you merged your account with console you will not be able to play until they fix it, fastest workaround is make a new account not merged to another platform. I can confirm this.

have you ever managed to fix it somehow?

I have been having the same issues since release, I played on release day, then got kicked from the server and haven’t been able to play since. I’ve had a ticket open with Blizzard Support for over 2 weeks now, and they’ve only responded to me twice in that time period; both times they gave me troubleshooting methods and asked me to reply with how it went.
I’ve tried all the common tricks:

  1. Disconnecting/Reconnecting/Relogging
  2. Restarting pc entirely
  3. Restarting internet connection
  4. Region switching to Asia and Europe
  5. Scan/repair tool
  6. Flushing DNS

…and bottom line its my account and not my network/connection. My account is somehow bugged and it doesn’t allow me to join any server. I’ve used other accounts on the same pc/network and I can play them with no problem.
