Undo the nerf to Echo's beam

There was no reason for it. Echo had a high pickrate because she was new. And her winrate was pretty balanced. Her beam wasn’t used that much due to healers keeping targets above 50%, but it was still useful.

Then they nerfed her beam. She is a mid-range hero who is weak at long range and close range combat, but she was fairly effective mid-range. But now, you have to throw your tank sized hitbox with DPS sized health into the enemies face for the beam to have any worth. Of course this usually leads to you dying. Meanwhile, they buffed Genji who was already more annoying than Echo.

Tbh it’s fine as it is if i’m honest.

She doesn’t even have spread or damage falloff, has fine mobility if honest.

Good on Close-Range
Good on Mid-Range
Not good but it works pretty well with aim and prediction on long range.

Going close range in any team fight will get her killed. She isn’t good close range. She is ok at best. Going close range can get her hit by her own bombs or get her insta killed by a lot of other enemies.

She works best at mid-range, and they took away one of her key abilities. There is a reason she has .67% pickrate. If she was fine, she’d be picked a lot more.

Echo is an example of hero poorly designed because she’s untouched by any other hero who isn’t hitscan.

idk what they thought of adding another mistake as Pharah already was a mistake

Echo’s fine? She’s only held back by Ashe and WIdow being OP. As well as Genji, who was OP and did her job better

Almost each DPS hero can get instakilled, her mobility allows her to place her in a way where she doesn’t get hit so easily.

Phara also self-inflicts damage just like Zarya.

Not all DPS heroes should be good standalone, this is a team based game after all.

Well stats don’t lie, though i feel she can get a buff in a diff way tbh.
It also depends on meta.

Its meh, not really that bad. Though I would not mind a buff.

She was also introduced along with hero bans and they had the genius idea to ban like all hit scan at the same time.

I think thats the trade off, you cant give a mobile hero too many range abilities without drawbacks, and honestly 16 m is still okay thats why phara has only one dmg ability becasue she can fly everywhere, echo has two range abilities and the beam, there needs to be some tradeoffs becasue 20 m beam is too much in my opinion.

I mean thier is a spread on her primary but it has like a max spread radius thing going on

Echo has a low winrate, and an even lower pickrate. I wouldn’t say she is fine, and her beam length would be a simple buff. It would make her more suited to being a mid-range hero.

Pharah only has one damage ability, but it deals a lot of damage with no cool down. Echo is reliant on her abilities, so it makes sense for them to be strong.

To be honest, i find myself playing like this. I find it easier to track.

Statistics don’t lie, Echo is objectively underpowered and the beam nerf raised the skill floor of an already difficult hero who even then doesn’t do well in high elo.

It seems kind of pointless too. It didn’t really affect the enemies who heavily countered her. It only made it so the heroes she countered weren’t so easily countered by her.

And that was only for one on one. For a team fight, it just destroyed her bursting capabilities. Someone else mentioned that any DPS would get instakilled if they got too close, so why would they force her to get so close if it meant she’d likely die from it?

That or increase the Duration that it’s active. The ability feels too clunky.

I wasnt really specifically basing my argument on winrare/pickeate but more so on heroes kits having too much range on a mobile hero

Myabe they can buff her on other areas but in my opinion the nerf to the beam is justified, echos source of dmg isnt entirely reliant on her beam alone too.

Hitscam are very OP at the moment and im sure if ashe/widow and other hitscan heroes werent popular the nerf to her beam is negligible.

I’m not asking for it to be long-range. Just mid-range, or to what it was before. Right now, you have to get right up in their face to use it. Which means you get killed by their Rhein or become an easy target for their whole team.

Echo was usable before, because she could pick the healers and then go back to her team. And even then if they had a good hitscan, it made it a lot harder.

If they really don’t want to increase it’s range, then I’d be fine with lowering the cool down of her flight. Because right now, you basically have to use it to get in, hope your beam doesn’t get interrupted by healers or high health enemies getting between you and your target (which usually happens), and then you are forced to sit in their backline for five seconds before you can retreat.

I can sympathize becasue as a symm main with 12 m beam this is what i have to deal everytime that’s why i rarely use the beam now and just spam the orbs or ocassinally tp bomb+ orb combo
Oh i wish she have more range tbh with how her hitbox is bigger than mei she can really use a range buff.

Maybe they can buff echos mobility so that she have a means of escaping in a tight situations.

I’d agree Symm needs a range buff as well. I play her now and then, and there aren’t many times you’d want to use her beam. Moira mains won’t know what we are talking about though.
