I already had ping spikes on PS4, but I could still play it with simple lag every now and again, but on PS5, the game is literally unplayable. Ping spikes all the way up to 1000. I’m all for pushing through lag….when it’s playable. Please, can someone give me a solution? Is it because OW hasn’t gotten any kind of ps5 support yet? Or is it something else? My internet is completely fine. But idk what to do.
First, go through these standard troubleshooting tips for console if you have not already. These are important as most issues in a home network are resolved.
If those steps do not help, you may have a connection issue between you and the game server. The best way to troubleshoot that is through a WinMTR test, but you need a Windows computer connected to the same network as your PlayStation console.
- Download WinMTR from Download WinMTR-v092.zip (WinMTR) (Console players need a Windows Desktop Computer connected to the same network as their console to do this.)
- Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
- Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
- Run the WinMTR.exe
- Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. Since you are on console you will want to use one of the pre-listed IP address below these steps to determine the datacenter closest to you.
- Run the test for about 10 minutes and then click on “Stop” on WinMTR
- Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
- Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between:
