As off the recent update with lunar new year (that’s how long this has been affecting me) i haven’t been able to log in to play the game at all. i open bliz. app and press play but nothing will happen. occasionally, the game will open for about 3 minutes and then throw me back to the login screen saying 'unable to authenticate. Please help me, i really want to get back in before retribution update
Cytrus,
I’ve seen this a couple times when people were trying to log into the PTR instead of the main game. Can you double check over your Play button and ensure you’re in the correct region instead of the Public Test Region?
Other than that, can you delete Battle.net’s cache file and log in through the Blizzard Battle.net Application again?
If you still have problems after that, let us know what other troubleshooting you’ve done and how you’re connected to the internet (wifi/ethernet, whether you’re using a usb device to connect, etc)
I have used your integrated trouble shooting option multiple times as well as deleting and re-downloading it. it has also occurred to me that when i re-download it, the Overwatch application logo is replaced with a blank paper. i am currently connected to NBN WiFi on a laptop connected to two monitors using an adapter.
I am responding to this thread since you commented in another person’s thread that you bumped that you never got a response from the Blizzard Support Agent. Posts like to sink so continue to bump appropriately when you still need.
Did you clear out the Cache files as Drakuloth instructed? It sounds like you tried to use Scan and Repair or installed and uninstalled the application altogether, that may not delete the app launcher’s cache files.
I have deleted the cache file and when i open the game, but says ‘unable to authenticate’. i connected through Ethernet recently and it still doesn’t work
Cytrus,
It looks like you’ve been posting very rarely on this thread. I recommend contacting support directly when it’s convenient for you so that we can troubleshoot this live with you. This isn’t an efficient way to troubleshoot on the forums.
Ok. thanks for all the help!
