Is there a resource anywhere that shows how fast a hero can gain ultimate charge on various tasks? I recall Mercy got something like… 12% ult charge after the ult charge reduction when she does 200 hp damage with blaster.
The reason for wondering is when someone says you are just feeding I am curious if certain heroes would not mind the trades. For example, if you damage orb as Moira for that slight of charge how much healing would an enemy healing unit get for the damage versus say Moira.
Or say if Genji does poke damage will he get blade faster than Zenyatta would for healing off the damage for example?
Ultimate charge is a makeup of charge points earned for various tasks done.
Depending on how many points it takes to get an ult it increases/decreases the time taken to obtain it passively as well as the time it takes to get it when doing actions.
The Overwatch Wiki has all those stats for each character.
I would like to read a real analysis on this, if anyone ever did one.
There is just so many variables to consider though. For instance, let’s say Genji gets 10% ult charge for poke damage, and Baptiste gets 20% for healing it.
Maybe it’s still worth it, because Blade is more valuable than Amp Matrix
It sadly might not matter too if the difference is so little. Oh, baptiste already has ultimate and has not used it after 2 minutes. You can probably keep poking with Genji and it won’t matter.
I’m not sure if this is true, but I remember damage and charge being a 1:1 ratio, but healing wasn’t. The support had varying ratios of heal to charge.
I can’t find it though, or maybe I was wrong. Someone confirm please.
Ok that thread is good information, and I did the math with Lucio.
Heals
Damage
Ok so I’m right, healing and damage don’t have the same charge rate. Lucio needs to do slightly more healing then damage to gain his ultimate, if he exclusively does heals or damage.
So to answer your question, OP, when you do chip damage you gain more ultimate charge then healing it, but it depends on the support that is healing.
It seems Mercy’s ratio for healing is 1:1, the same as her damage (with pistol or amp damage)
