How are ult charge points calculated? and what are the values?
I get that you gain ult by doing damage or healing but it is 1 damage/hp to 1 point of charge or is it greater or does it change per hero
Do you get additional points if you get the final blow over just an elimination? And if so are points across eliminations shared equally or based on damage done
Do head shots reward more charge (outside of additional damage) over body shots
With damage bosting heroes how are points rewarded do you get points for just the extra damage or all of it?
Heroes passively gain 5 ult charge every second. They gain charge equivalent to the amount of damage they deal, which includes environmental kills. The same logic applies to healing, except for Reaper and Mercy’s passives. Mercy’s damage boost nets her charge equal to 30% of the damage done by the hero she’s boosting.
As far as I’m concerned, you don’t get additional ult charge for getting a final blow on an enemy. Headshots do not reward you with additional charge outside of the damage amplifier.
Different heroes will have ult charge costs. For example, Ana’s Nano Boost needs 1875 ult charge, but Sombra’s EMP only requires 1250 ult charge. This is why Zarya’s ultimate takes longer to charge than Winston’s ultimate.
Fun fact: Every ultimate cost is in a multiple of 62.5.
Ult charge is gained at a rate of 5 per second passively, and you gain one point per damage dealt/healing done. Some exceptions exist, such as not getting ult charge off Wrecking Ball’s shields, and Mercy receives 30% of ult charge from the damage she boosts. You do not get extra ultimate charge for headshots or confirming eliminations; it’s entirely based on the manipulation of hit points.
