UI Design Requests

I always think of a bunch of small things that would make navigating through menus a little more comfortable (nothing crazy, but would be nice) and I tend to forget them until I run into them again.

So here is a small list of UI changes that I remember and think would be nice additions or changes and maybe I’ll add in some more over time as I come across scenarios that remind me of other changes.

Feel free to comment and add in some of your own UI changes. Maybe if some are popular enough, might get some momentum to get changed…?

Rank Display:
Loving the new display of team mate ranks being shown when you are in the character select screen.
That being said, would love it way more if it continued to display players ranks in other locations, like when tabbing to see the score board.
Just put their rank symbol and subdivision number just to the left of where their name is displayed on the scoreboard.
It’s a little inconvenient that you have to go back to the character select screen if you want to see player ranks again.
(Side note, would be cool to have player rank displayed after the game is over too, when viewing the Game Reports - Teams section. A static icon of what rank each player was during that game. It doesn’t change when a player’s rank changes after this game. It shows what the player’s rank/division was during the game).

Speaking of the Game Reports section…
Game Report Section:
It would be nice to be able to interact with player accounts in this screen (right click, avoid, friend request, report, etc.).
As it stands now, you can view the game report after a game and look through everything, but as an example, if you wanted to avoid a player, you would then have to leave this section and go to the “Social” tab and then to “Last Match” (or “Recent Players”) and then you can interact with the player accounts to avoid a player.
Just seems like the ability to interact with other player accounts could be applied to the section of review the Game Reports. Would be handy.

Game Report section (Another thing on the Game Report Section):
It would be nice to show the lobby rank range that was for the game you are reviewing.
Just displayed in the summery of the game review or under the teams tab.

View Account/Hidden Account:
Love the new update where private accounts no longer show the “view account” when right clicking on a player name, letting you know that the account is private without having to click “view account” that then loads for a moment, just to show you that the account is private.
It’s a simple thing and yet, I love that you get the information quicker and don’t have to make unnecessary clicks through the UI.
That being said… Its not a big deal, but would like it more if it either displayed “account private” in place of “view account” button or if not that, still showed “view account” but it’s clearly greyed out.
Again, not a big deal, but just having “view account” missing, I tend to look for it longer than needed cause sometimes, you just miss it when it’s there.
This would make it just that much better of a quick glance and moving on.

I’ll also add I’d like a color distinction between ranked and QP for stadium. In normal modes QP is blue and ranked is red. For stadium they are both orange and can be somewhat annoying for some.

Player order not spontaneously changing in the social tab would be nice.

Oh, this is a good one!

And it reminded me of another one.
When playing Open queues, Players displayed in both the character selection screen and in tab, should still be by role.
When on player selection screen, when someone picks tank, they are moved to the far left, DPS middle, Support far right and continued to be grouped this way as everyone picks their characters.
For tab, Tank at top, DPS middle, Support bottom.
Make it nice and easy to glance and know what your team is running.

Also, the ability to choose which order abilities appear in on the bottom right of your screen.

I don’t know who’s bright idea it was to put Dire Triggers as the third ability and push the other two to the left, but I’m constantly confusing my TP cooldown with Dire Triggers and it’s severely annoying.

Good ideas! I approve of these UI changes. Wouldnt it be crazy if Devs do these changes in the next season?

One addition I want to add is “Tryout Hero”. Frequently, I will accidently press this button when Im trying to Equip a skin. Its very frustrating. I wish the “Tryout Hero” button lit up more brightly, or had some UI animation like the Perk Activate button does. Would make my OW2 life a little easier.
