i went to read the wiki for mauga and this is how the described him:
“Tall and muscular, Mauga often portrays himself as being a “big dumb brute.” However, this is a facade, as he possesses cunning attributes. He talks fast and loose, and has a tendency to treat strangers as if they are friends. He is proficient in close combat; Baptiste regarded him as being “like a demon”; a sociopath and sadist, Mauga flips between his lighter and darker sides quickly, though can lose himself in the latter. Only Baptiste has ever been able to talk him down from this state in the field. Baptiste himself serves as a blindspot for Mauga, who’s shown him mercy where he might otherwise not do so.”
also i think he is samoan or his name means mountain in samoan. doesnt really say if he is samoan or not. i wonder if terry crews could voice him 
terry crews always struck me as a comedian but i guess he could act the part of a sociopath with violent tendencies? magau seems more like Dee-bo from the friday movies
i would post a video of Dee-bo but so much swearing in those movies lol. just look up “best of dee-bo friday.” on you-tube. the actor’s name was Tommy Lister Jr.
edit: o dam went to look him up guess he is deceased. well guess he cant voice act for overwatch…
wait i forot terry crews played a violent bully on “friday after next” well i guess he could play the part lol. i actually forgot that it was him, thought it was the Dee-bo actor

I think price is the main reason they haven’t hired him.
Voice actors are treated as pretty disposable. If one expects a higher pay, just hire someone cheaper.

Nah, let them use a competent voice actor.
I reckon he would suit the role so well!
TBH, as awesome as Terry Crews is, I dont really feel like his personality would fit an OW character very well.

This actually happened in Payday 2 - albeit I think it was for legitimate budgeting issues and not just them being stingy on the pay. It upset a lot of people because one of the main four characters from the original game basically got written out.
To their (much deserved) credit they served the community well and once they started raking in money they actually hired the guy and did a whole event about him coming back and wrote it into the lore of the game.

I think it was because players would have said that they are playing with Terry Crews instead of Doomfist
Something tells me he wouldn’t be a stickler in this case……he likes video games is the impression I’ve got

I love Terry Crews. Dude is a national treasure – not only as one of the funniest comic actors alive but also as a father, a bodybuilding enthusiast and a gamer.
My only concern is that he might overshadow the other VAs. They’re all spectacular, but Crews is a bigger star and his energetic delivery might command everyone’s attention in a match, with people laughing and fawning over it.
But maybe that initial novelty would wear off soon enough and his voice would comfortably fit in with everyone else’s.
