Type field added to Start Forcing Outline?

I saw the patch notes for the new update but I do not have PC for PTR. So what does “Added Type Field to Start Forcing Player Outline” refer to? Is this referring to the type of outline, like the silhouettes of teammates when they are out of your line of sight? Also, will an icon string put into in-world-text be able to change colors now? Thanks, have a great rest of your day!:slightly_smiling_face:

So there are 3 types of player outlines now.

  • Default - The default behavior for outlines, which actually depends on the player’s outline settings in the “Controls” tab of your game settings. But assuming that you have “Show Friendly Outlines” on “Default” for all heroes:

    • If you are not playing a Support hero, allied outlines are only visible if they are out of line of sight.

    • If you are playing a Support hero, allied outlines are not visible at all and will be replaced with allied silhouettes instead (which can’t be changed with the Workshop).

    • Enemy outlines are visible unless occluded by the environment.
  • Occluded - Outlines are only visible when occluded by the environment.

  • Always - Outlines are always visible, even when occluded by the environment.

P.S. “Occluded by the environment” means that they are blocked from vision by map geometry, map props, players, etc.

The text will change colors, but icon strings are still uncolorable.
