I think intially OP was talking about old reports going through in general. I came back to the game after months and got a warning. More than likely from when everyone was hurt by “gg”. Makes the whole reporting system look goofy to me.
Yeah I got some too. They could have lowered the threshold.
Same here, received 2 messages “thank you for reporting” in a single day after months of silence.
Sometimes people are banned in waves.

They started silencing people like crazy.
It’s real. You can see several people talking about being silenced for pretty mundane stuff here in the forums for like 2 weeks now.

I got a couple first weeks of ow2 but have had nothing recently but i only report chat when they are asking to be banned (blatent stuff that the chat should just filter), and people throwing so hard its not a one off tantrum but a playstyle.

With certain types of report, Blizz won’t action them immediately. Instead they will allow accounts to rack up the reports and then action them in a huge job lot.
Same here. Nearly a year of reporting a minimum of 2 players per session, and nothing. Now all of a sudden I get a “Thanks for reporting” every time I log on.
