Overwatch 2’s version of Reinhardt looks very OP.
Is double fire strike only available in PvE mode?
If double fire strike is a global change…well, IT looks ENTIRELY OP.
Sojourn looks great!

Well obviously they will be tuning damage and cooldown as well.
It may be a skill tree ability. Skill trees may be only available in PvE.
They’ve said many times the skill trees were only for PvE
Increasing the damage and lowering the cooldown to catch the zippy DPS!
Seeing how all supports can regen their health & Damage heroes can move faster away from his swings, this really won’t be that bad. Not to mention that Rein wouldn’t be the only tank with steadfast.
They don’t need to make roles be equal to each other in 2-2-2.
So as long as rein is balanced vs other Tanks, it’s fine.
Its probably PVP, they showed multiple times how he charges groups out of a shield or protective zone then uses his new charge-cancel to stop early and shatter them
So then regular play PvP will have no skill trees.
One fire strike then…Phew!
Thank you
to be honest am more inclined to see what a more in your face orisa is to them because doesnt really have that kind of kit currently, especially since the new tank passive being almost useless since she be immune to cc anyway
Rein get 2 fires strike, the charge turn, and the charge cancel in PvP.
It’s wild people are already crying about something being OP, in an new game environnent that we barely know anything about or how it plays.
It was shown in PvP situations fighting other heroes, so I am pretty sure it’s not PvE only.
It looks terrifying!!!

The two fire strikes and charge cancel is meant for PvP, but those changes are only internal experiments right now. They want to make tanks feel powerful, so similar changes would happen to other tanks.
it be broken for 2-2-2, balanced for 1-3-2.
Good point
For 1-3-2 I have no complaints for double fire strike.
Other than ignoring shields.
No this new change they are testing is NOT limited to PVE, but intended for PVP. These changes reflect an overall goal to make tanks more “brawly” and upfront, rather than simply be positional tools to define the front line in teamfights. Furthermore, these changes may not make it to the final game.
Now in my sole, personal (I don’t represent Blizzard when I say this) honest opinion, all I can say is…
No seriously, the biggest complaints I have seen about tanks is the lack of impact they have in games and this will change that perception. I always felt like tanks needed to be serious threats that neither Damage or Support roles should take lightly. They are the boss battles that you face in every team fight. Of course the question is going to be whether they can balance this right, but from what little I saw in the panel today. Damn I am excited for this change.
Literally this. OW2 is a ways away and basically everything is subject to change.
Stated in a previous post in the thread…
Double fire strike may fit better in 1-3-2 not in 2-2-2.
Im pretty sure he had an 800 barrier in the version they showed with 2 fire strike and charge cancel. So yes more dmg, yes way more forgiving charge, but half the barrier.
