Twitch's avarage view count is less than 10k viewers

I have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about. I’ve never made these arguments. I’ve never cited Twitch viewers showing the balance is bad. All I’m saying is that it shows interest in the game. All I’m saying is that something might be happening. You are literally just putting words in my mouth.

have you read the thread you’re posting in? I suggest you read the original post.

So what game are all those awesome and super popular streamers playing these days?

You’re telling me to stop using it as an argument for the reason things should change. Tell OP that not me.

The people keeping Overwatch alive are the ones still playing it, not watching streams on Twitch. If you don’t want it to die, play more.

I am… and you. Stop quoting twitch viewership as any sort of meaningful stat other than a reason to invest more/less in OWL development.

Even so, number of viewers =//= number of players.

It’s meaningless in terms of any aspect of actual gameplay. It only reflects interest in watching the game as a spectator.

you’re welcome to stop commenting at any time.

Now you’re just changing your point and STILL putting words in my mouth. I never said it was. Literally all I’m saying is that it shows interest in the game. I didn’t say it shows interest in playing. It’s possible for it to correlate but the strength of the correlation is very much up to debate.

my point has and always will be quoting twitch viewership or whatever streamer leaving means nothing about whether this game is “dying” or not and it’s silly to think that it’s any sort of indicator of the actual “health” of the game. You keep posting “it’s the best we have” and I will repeat: it is NOT relevant to any argument happening about the “death” of overwatch in any of these threads.

It is data, and relevant to certain discussions but not the one that’s happening in this thread.

twitch viewer stats still give an idea about the trend of the game… how much interest ppl got in it.
having less viewers means less ppl are interested in the game… maybe they stopped playing it, maybe they stopped watching it, maybe both.
also when big streamers are leaving…they take many ppl with them… by watching other games there is a chance that they will also play less ow but the games the streamers shows.

ofc you cannot take twitch numbers alone to look at state of the game.

but look at korea… there we have numbers.

since release ow lost more then 50% of the playerbase.
LoL and PUBG got their players back…

OWL pulls 80k+, and we’re nearing a major down-turn while they take a break before the playoffs.

There is such a things as “too much Overwatch”.

The only numbers that matter are the number of eyes on the championship. As long as that broadcast is successful, we’re fine.

Lets be hedonists and enjoy the way OW dies?

Fair enough. I’m just worried honestly. I’ve seen the numbers for esports matches that aren’t OWL. They’re pretty mediocre. I just unsure of the health of the grassroots esports. If OWL falls in popularity significantly, there will be little grassroots to help it grow legitimately. There will be a negative reputation to Overwatch esports if OWL has huge issues. It will be very hard to make more esport tournaments. It may seem that I hate this game, I kind of don’t. I want this game to be actually good. I spent 40 bucks on it so yeah.

You should tell everyone who plays Super Smash Bros. Melee that their game is dead because “streamers” and see how that goes.

According to this, currently, PUBG is at 31.79%, LoL is 27.51%, and Overwatch is at 7.58%. I think you’ll have to have an account or something to get better metrics and it’s in Korean so it’d be hard for us to get them.

According to this in August of last year League was pretty much the same, PUBG was 13.51%, and Overwatch was at 12.99%

I don’t know how games lived on in the past when Twitch wasn’t around. It’s amazing…

40million players btw. Twitch sponsorship and heavy push to make people watch OWL and their game on Twitch. Every streamer leaving the game because of how bad new hanzo/brig ruined any fun to be had.

Even with all language streamers, with 40 MILLION players, only 10k viewers without OWL on LUL.

Did i mention 40 million players?

Ahahahahahaahahahahaha! Thanks this made me laugh so hard

I’m pretty sure they were being sarcastic.
