Why do syms turret slow? They already do a ton of damage can be tossed anywhere. Who thought it was a good idea for modern sym turret to also slow you to a crawl? Why are the no brain aspects of this game seemingly so effective. During a crazy team fight its nearly impossible to focus the turrets instead of the people you should be focusing.
I’m partially deaf and can’t even hear them because they’re much quieter now.
That sucks, those suckers should just make noise consistently. Like… give them a consistent buzzzing noise that you can hear around corners and stuff.
They have a sound that you can hear from behind walls.
Older versions of Symm’s turrets had a slowing effect too.
They do 50dps ( 30 if you’re on console EDIT: it’s 42.5 dps).
They have 30 hp so a melee attack will finish them off. They have a long cooldown and she only has three. It’s not that much of a problem.
The turrets only slow you by -1 meter per second each.
The only hero that is slowed to a crawl is Mercy when rezzing, and I believe Reinhardt when holding his barrier. They literally do not move.
except for that if you have to peek to kill the turrets you also have seriously damaging sym orbs flying at you.
Ask a Zarya for a bubble, go Winston, pharah, junkrat, symm, Torbjorn, soldier. Any hero with splash damage will kill the turrets, they’re usually clustered together.
It actually does slow you to basically being a free pick for the enemies. I don’t think a no brain ability should do so much damage and also slow. They should just nerf the turrets a bit and improve her main attack to compensate. I play quickplay btw, coordination is not exactly common there.
Symmetra needs literally no nerfs right now.
Her turrets are her most consistent form of damage, which is sad.
That’s why I am saying buff her laser and nerf the turrets.
I’d be fine with them if they weren’t guaranteed-hit lasers and had no slow.
Blaster turrets are fine by me, give them more damage and let Symmetra create more of them, that’d make payload maps and any maps with moving platforms funny.
Problem is, right now they have massively different effectiveness against different heroes.
They’re least effective against Brigette and Roadhog, since they can easily destroy them even with poor aim and they’ll have full health afterwards.
They’re most effective against Genji, since he’ll take at least 1 second to destroy each and he’ll seriously need healing afterwards.
If they had projectiles, they would have a low hit rate against the enemies that are most prone to turrets, and would have a 100% hit rate against the enemies that are strong against turrets, making turrets feel less underpowered and less overpowered.

This has to be a joke. The turrets are weak if anything. They’re on a 10 second cooldown each and are oneshottable. They are destructible midair and take time to activate upon hitting a surface.
If any changes are needed it’s a cooldown reduction and faster activation.
So you want the no brain part of your kit to be the most effective? You would rather keep turrets the way they are then to have the laser buffed to show you are able to kill people well without needing autolock turrets to do the dirty work for you?
Sym is not a super strong character and parts of her kit don’t need to be nerfed as compensation for buffs that she needs.
As long as she has a ramp-up on her short range laser, and slow projectiles that take 1 second to charge up on her secondary, turrets are required in her kit. The only way I could possibly be okay with ANYTHING resembling the slightest nerf to turrets would be her if weapon was drastically improved. And I do mean drastically.
Not to be a toiletbowl but there’s something I always find in common when viewing the profiles of people who think turrets are a problem.
I mean you don’t do anything to deserve the kill, there is no good reason for the turrets to slow people in their current state. You may like turrets and that’s okay but they are too effective for you basically not doing anything.Why should you be rewarded so heavily for basically doing nothing? I find it odd that you would defend the no brain aspect of her kit so heavily. Obviously you are one of the people who don’t think you should have to work to achieve kills in this game, it should just be handed to you because of bad game design and it favoring people who don’t want to put any real effort in.

I think turrets should have a more noticeable visual effect. Nothing too obvious or loud, just a tiny visual cue for those with enough awareness to look out for it.
This…isn’t true. You don’t “do nothing” you have to know when and where to place turrets so that they’re useful and not immediately destroyed. People who aren’t very good at Sym will throw turrets willy nilly and they’ll immediately be destroyed and provide 0 value.
I’m trying very hard to avoid personal insults but you’re making it difficult with the false accusations. I think you’re just being a salty boi who died to a turret once cause of no awareness.
They’re already EXTREMELY apparent. If you can’t see them you probably have other problems with the game that are going to hinder you more than turrets will. The next step would be a neon sign with an arrow pointing to it saying “Here I am!”
