After turning off crossplay it reset my competitive rank and completing unranked competitive matches does not count to the 5 unranked matches to be ranked.

I have this issue too and made my bug report own topic which hasn’t gotten a reply as of yet. I’m getting a bit nervous as the ranked season is ending soon!
EDIT: If you turn cross-play back on, your rank is back it seems. It looks like we’re forced into using cross-play for now.
