I would like to remind people, that arcade is not a comp. They don´t have to stress them selves and others. People usualy play arcade to relax and have fun.
I am not talking about throwers of course - that is bad.
Just example of yesterday: I was playing “total mayhem” and there was always someone like “you suck, you are trash, you are bad” and so on…
Same goes for “Mystery heroes” what I play quite often and I see this “angry” people quite often.
Well…of course people would be bad there - they wanna play heroes, they usualy don´t play, just to expirience this mode. I personaly don´t go there to try hard for win, I go there to enjoy the whole mode and relax. I go there to avoid stress expirience called “competetive” and hate, when people are stressing there. Just relaaax…
If this makes people angry, than they should not probably play arcade…
I don’t understand taking Total Mayhem and Mystery Heroes seriously, but 3v3, TDM, QPC, etc. are built in such a manner that you could very easily take them in a competitive direction (and have). It’s just non-standard Overwatch.
I was talking mostly about modes like “Mystery heroes” (which is pure RNG), “Total mayhem” (where people literaly just spam ults)…
I could imagin also “no limits” in this relax category
I just don´t see, how you can take this seriously, or expect people to play great for all 32 heroes
I only go it to arcade to get the lootboxes during an event, so i want my team to play their best heroes, and focus on winning, so i can get my three loot boxes and go back to playing real OW, comp
I mean I practically live there (MH) and I can’t remember the last time I saw any toxicity to be honest….I’ve come on here touting how care free the game mode is many times before
So It’s weird to see someone on here saying they run into this….
The seriousness thing I believe….like I dont show it but I take the mode seriously (to a degree)….there’s no rule book (even for comp) that says you must take any game mode super seriously….you’re going to have a good mix in any game mode of people doing w/e they feel is “correct”
I have more played time in “Mystery heroes” than any other mode and usualy it´s fine…but yesterday it was disaster. Maybe because it´s new challange week - new skin, new lootboxes and it was “Total mayhem” day - people were freaking out almost in every game. I took a break from arcades for a few weeks and returned back into this yesterday and I don´t remember it beying it so bad (but I also never played “Total mayhem” so I thought it´s maybe normal there?"). It was just bad, toxic expirience…
A lot of people want to optimize their loot boxes during an event so they are trying to do their 9 wins in arcade and get frustrated if they are losing.
9w9 another fellow acolyte of our rotting lord and savior, Rngesus D’: /hug, add me! Suko#1750 I need more mystery heroes people xD all my friends hate it and forbid me to have group-lead because of it LOL
Probably just a few bad and angry players in the bunch but it does happen.
But I rarely see much toxicity in Arcade (I’m a non-Comp player) and most of the players there are cool to just have fun.
I play quite a lot of arcade and to be honest, I find more often than not, the people who accuse others of tryharding are either:
Essentially throwing – things like emoting or purposely playing in a very inefficient way (e.g. dps moira in mayhem). Such people tend to not understand that people actually want to play the game. It would be like playing a game of soccer at the park with friends but constantly picking up the ball and running away with it thinking you’re funny, but secretly everyone actually hates you.
Not aware that their opponents are in fact just way better than they are, and are actually putting in the same amount of effort, just to a better effect. A GM player playing extremely casually is likely going to perform much better than a gold player trying their hardest. That’s just how it is. Arcade is not comp - it doesn’t have the same strict guidelines for matchmaking. You will absolutely get teams whose ranks vary by the thousands from time to time.
