- Game has sustain issues
- Dev team introduces DPS passive to help (instead of just nerfing the outliers)
- Dev team in that VERY SAME PATCH, buffs everyone’s HP pool which completely contradicts trying to fix sustain
- Dev team also proceeds to, over the course of a year+, buff EVERY SINGLE SUPPORT’S HEALING. Therefore once again completely going against their goal of decreasing sustain and the entire point of the DPS passive
- At the same time, buffs the DPS passive multiple times to fight against the sustain. As if they have no idea how the sustain problem keeps only getting bigger
I need any sort of logical response that makes it sound like this dev team isn’t the most incompetent grouping of humans.
It genuinely makes no sense, in any way you put it. We’re trying to fix the sustain issue, while also actively making it worse. Blizzard is literally the meme of the apes in the jungle, seeing themselves in a mirror and fighting themselves.
“oh my we must fight against the sustain, how does this keep happening! who keeps increasing the sustain in this game
”
Introducing a passive to reduce healing but then buffing literally EVERY source of healing this game has to offer, MAKES NO SENSE.

I don’t think what they do is “balancing”.
Aaron said himself that the changes are pretty much just to “shake things up” and change the meta. There is no actual balancing in mind.

The problem is they aren’t even doing that right. The DPS meta hasn’t changed in like over a year. The support meta has just been ana for like 75% of OW2. The tank meta has rotated between the same 4 tanks, with random outliers in between.
Hell, even with the mid season patch just now. They completely left out hazard and ram.

season 9 nerfed burst with hp changes, hitscans/ projectiles would burst you down way faster before season 9
dps passive nerfed healing, made tanks actually killable with 20% against tanks. The only thing that doesn’t make sense is nerfing the dps passive against tanks which was the whole point of the dps passive to make tanks actually killable and giving tanks headshot reduction
Not hard to understand
Season 9 was the most balanced the game has been since season 9 with the original numbers, it’s closer now with the dps passive getting buffed to 30%, should be 20% against tanks and no headshot reduction then the game would be good
AND i’d love to go back to pre season 9 hp/ hitboxes, game took way more skill, love the dps passive tho

Keep in mind, they did all of this just because they were afraid of making support players upset by nerfing their fave characters and didnt want to revert to 6v6.
it’s impossible to nerf supports without the passive, you need Ana to do 70 per shot she’s the reason for support power creep, Mercy had 50hp/s before Ana
ana 3 taps are peak, why it’s at 75 rn so she can 3 tap 225

Yes it is? Just tone down their healing numbers and rework immortalities. Revert the failed format as well.
no it isn’t, cause you need ana to 3 tap and it would be weird having ana do more damage and less healing
like if her damage was 75/ 65 healing

Its not a requirement to make Ana 3 tap, and Ana’s anti was more so the issue due to this failed 5v5 format; they should (have) revert(ed) to 6v6. The characters like Lifeweaver, Illari, Kiriko, Bap, Brig, etc; shouldve gotten major healing nerfs and immortalities reworked.
anti is broken, but it’s Ana’s base healing numbers every support scales off her. Ana is the most broken support
Yea? So lower it if its a “big” deal.
They were afraid of nerfing Ana, Kiriko and Mercy because that would make their playerbase upset and those heroes sell skins*
What the balancing team do is not balance the game, rather they structure things in a way that will allow Blizzard to sell more skins. That’s the reason we see global passives even though they make no sense, why we have compensatory buffs and why we very rarely see a hero be straight up nerfed. They want to cater to every possible client. They don’t have a design phylosophy, rather they have a marketing strategy. Overwatch is a glorified virtual costume store with a gameplay element attached to it.
Why? Any hero with 2 forms of damage do different damage from each. Why does it make sense they tie heals and damage together for Ana? It doesn’t. They are not related in any way except they come from the same key press.
Acting as if the DPS passive doesn’t already do that.

Ayo? Something we agree on for once? Nice!
Should’ve nerfed the DPS passive against squishies. It’s so ez to kill things with spam damage now.
The Ana Illuminati made them do all these things. It’s obvious.
i’d rather they move the 5% around to tanks, 20% against tanks, 25% against squishy’s
You know what I’d prefer? Remove the god awful passive entirely and make changes to the actual problematic supports instead of just blanket buffing an entire role to be able to just counter another, dumpstering some of them while bearly touching others. Pure laziness.

It’s not even just healing, it’s these raidboss tanks as well
you’d need to remove all passives then as well
