Try to have fun

I know it can be difficult sometimes, but if you can just make a play, it might turn a losing game into a close game.

And, if not victory, maybe a moment of enjoyment from this game when such moments are rare. Not saying they are impossible, just rare.

Widow’s nerf is hitting me harder than I thought, or maybe I’m just distracted. I do believe the nerf has given widow a greater need for stealth, so she can attempt headshots minus distractions.

At least that seems the case with me. I’m struggling a little, but still managed to make some plays, stopped a Reaper’s death blossom twice on Antarctic, the second helped my team cap the point.

Not every match is going to be fun. Some are no fun at all. (Yes, I’m looking at you, Flashpoint) But do try to grab the fun when you can get it.

but if your consistent avg ratio has more losses than wins then, it will be an overall bad experience.

You’re missing the point. The game is still fun, or can be.

Sometimes, it’s the plays one makes, maybe in an otherwise “bad” game, that make it worthwhile.

oh yes… lets all assume that a “play” made by a single player can turn the tides… can LW make such a play? Illari? Mercy?
What you are saying is not compatible with the reality.
you are living in a gen-jutsu.

I still have a lot of fun, even in the more frustrating games. I always try as much as I can but I can also recognize I make mistakes, and even if someone else on my team is doing really poorly, I could’ve turned a team fight if I didn’t miss half the shots I did miss.

Seriously, focusing on yourself is the best thing you can do for your mentals.

Are you genuinely not having any fun when you lose games?

LW pulling their tank out at the last second and keeping them alive to win the team fight. Illari getting kills. Mercy pulling off a ridiculous rez.

I see it in my games all the time. Course it’d be cool if I could do that but I’m not good enough with those characters.

are you considering these “basic” actions as “plays”? which rank do you play in!
These aren’t plays… your job as a that hero is to perform those actions… if you aren’t doing them then you are basically throwing… Jesus… no wonder skilled players lose when paired with noob…

“oh I pulled my tank on low health… i made a play…” NO! you have nothing in your kit to make a play…

I’d like you to explain to me exactly what you think a ‘play’ is cause we clearly have two completely different definitions…

OP, as a Widow main, I really want to hate you and tell you that when the game isn’t fun, it’s because of you.

But, that’s BS. I appreciate your take and sentiment. You’ve made me hate Widow players slightly less, and you, in particular, get a pass.

If I get a three-man boop elim, I’ve already won in my heart, and the words that appear at the end of the match will do nothing to change that.

“play” usually means an action (performed at a crucial moment) that could or does turn the tide. If your definition is different then you need to update it.

LW pulling a tank on low health or Illari getting more kills is not a play. Its a basic action that they are otherwise supposed to do as part of their character design.

Why do you still play? Or do you? Because it’s clear you don’t enjoy this game anymore.

And those are plays. A rez, a well-timed lifegrip, a headshot. They make you feel good because you’re actually playing your hero as intended. You’re doing your job.

No wonder you’re not having fun. You make OW sound like a job. It’s just a game.

you are defining what a skilled player would normally do as “plays”… sigh…

gg bye

That is my definition, and ‘basic action’ is still an ‘action’.

Something like grip has a lot of factors that go into it when making a ‘play’:
-You have to consider where you are positioned vs enemy players; if you pull the tank at low health but an enemy is on you, your tank is dead and you wasted your cd
-Your tank and his target are both low on health; how long do you hold off on saving him? Your decision could potentially save the enemy target as well, who could then ult and wipe your team. But if the target and your tank die, you’ll still lose the fight
-Do you have ult? Would it be better to ult to save your tank or pull him to safety and save your ult for a more crucial time?
-You could throw a petal under your tank and lift him up to protect him while healing him instead of putting your vital grip on a long cd

What’s the thought process on dps? Who should I kill and when should I pop out? Those I’d define as ‘super basic actions’. Course, that’s an oversimplification but any ACTION can be the cause of a ‘play’.

Good point if you have no alternatives , but we do

In that case, play what you like. If you’ve really had enough of OW, and many have, find a game that you enjoy more. :+1:
