Hopefully something like this won’t make him op.
It shouldnt at all, almost everybody is literally better than genji. The best it could do is put him at an average spot which we all want and not make him op or broken. genji is still one of the easiest heroes to counter even if he gets these changes.
On a side note, i would also just fix his bugs and inconsistency on deflect and wall climb too ngl. Some people including myself did mention for a small buff in projectile speed but thatd sound cool lol. Idk might try a small buff number like 65s/m for a start lol. Primary fire is fine as it is, but dont mind it being at 0.9s. It literally doesnt make a difference if it gets that small of a buff but itd be nice.
Maybe adding triple jump back? Wall climb has been inconsistent since they removed it.

edit: sorry I apparently misunderstood “nerfing his ult by 20%” as decreasing ult charge needed by 20% …
How would this make him more of a blade not though? The changes are meant to help his lethality.
Wait what. This helps improve genji overrall with small steps if anything. This in fact puts him further from blade bot than towards it. How does this at all make him more as a blade bot?

I’d easily take these exchanges.
It keeps everything I think was important from the buffs he got and offers fair trades.
It also adds a LOAD more fluidity to his kit.
It unlocks that annoying delay that happens after a combo, and allows Genji to finish the kills he deserves.
He also keeps Deflect cancel, which is crazy important.
Only thing left is to fix these bugs:
If blade timer runs out and Genji executes a slash it doesn’t register
Wall climb randomly stopping on odd wall geometry
Genji getting shot from the initial spot he dashed from even if he’s not there
anymore
Deflect not registering and allowing projectiles to pass through it on occasion
Fix these bugs and go through with Sorrow’s proposed exchange, and Genji’s kit will play like a hot knife cutting through butter.
Spread nerf is pretty significant, deflect not that much.
Recovery time is small, damage is really nice.
But I don’t think the buffs outweight the nerfs to put ult charge nerf by 20%.
The intent is to make it so blade purposely charges a little bit slower since his kit is better.
His kit is more consistent, so he won’t need blade as often. It’s also not going to charge that much slower, maybe it’ll take like an extra 10-20 seconds.
The spread nerf keeps it consistent enough to land all your shots, because 12 was incredibly bad, but 10-10.5 will make it so you can still land all your shots if you’re good enough at a decent range.
put ult charge at 15% or make it so his damage goes to 30. because 20% is brutal for 29 damage.
Also please fix the stupid bug of stunning genji at start of dash trajectory glitch
The firerate is also technically a DPS buff.
We either do 30 damage and .75, or 29 and .7
The point is for him to get blade less thou.
Agree, 20% is way too much. He litterally loses his win condition for 1dmg.
That one damage can save his life, combined with the firerate buff unlocking his combo again, it gets him out of a LOT of sticky situations. Targets surviving with 3-6 HP is a huge reason why Genji dies.
And he isn’t losing his win condition by very much, it’s slightly slower but most of it is just scaling the damage to the charge rate.
I say just buff dmg by 2 and nerf ult charge by 10-15. Genji does not only need a powershift, also a slight buff.
2 dmg more is 6% faster blade, yet we nerf his ult charge by 20. I think 10 would be reasonnable as the 2dmg is a net buff so we need to compensate a bit but too much really just nerfs his win condition.
