I sent a ticket in for a direct response but I’d also like to toss this question around here to discuss it with other users.
I’m a casual player, I only come on the forms when I’m bored or have a bug report or question about the game. With this new trust system if you only log in once every so often you’re extremely limited on these forms. My main issue is that users like myself cannot post images or links.
I wish to know is there an easier way to build up trust so I can share my images and links when needed?
Alternatively, if we wanna share images and links but our accounts are not allowed to do so, we will be penalized for breaking rules by working around the link detection by removing the https or something and telling users to toss that in themselves?
I just came on today to share a meme and start a little “make your own” meme thread with a recent meme relating it to over watch for something fun to do and was disappointing to see the message pop up “sorry you cannot post links or images.”
Really bums me out.

The biggest issue with this is, that the support channels of Blizz are very limited. And if you have a technical issue or anything, you also have to come to the forum and place your issue here.
Which you can’t do in a proper way since your privileges are limited. Or you are entirely screwed if you have a temp. silence on you.

Yeah that’s also concerning too, how does one share image evidence of bugs they encounter in game or even a helpful video link? I’ve stated before when the new forms were fresh out of the oven that they should of put just a bit more thought into the trust system and allow exceptions for forms such as the bug report.
What i asked in my ticket i sent in is if we’re allowed to work around the link detection because i fear since it’s put in place for a reason, if you try to work around it you will be banned, and that’s not something I want to even take a risk with. Was tempted to do what i described in my post but deleted the post and went to ask permission from blizzard first before going ahead with that.
Alternatively they can just give everyone the option once your account is a few days old, and leave it to the community to report users abusing their image and link options and blizzard can then come in and ban them from using those options. If you ain’t posting stuff you shouldnt this system shouldn’t be a problem.
I also know of some forms too where they have image and links post go under a short period of review by a mod before being posted, with as much money and employees blizzard has i don’t see why this wouldnt be an option either, you’d only need a handful to do that and all they have to do is click links and images to make sure their okay for posting.
I just wanted to start my meme thread and have some fun.

I’m on the forums daily, a decent number of posts, and still can’t post links.
Noone knows how this trust thing works.

That’s really annoying, I know they don’t want people exploiting the system with bots or anything but this is a bit much and a lot of us are suffering because of it. I wouldn’t have much of a problem if I knew for sure we’re allowed to work around the link detection without risk of banning because we’re breaking rules or something.

I have so many funny gifs to share with the world, if not for this trust system.
Quite Exasperating
Does anyone know if Blizzard has even made a comment about this issue? I know for a fact we’re not the only users complaining about this. It’s clearly a widespread problem.
Also, the system restricts the amount of likes you can give, unless it trusts you.
It’s really dumb and limiting in a weird way.
You will notice the age of my thread.

I think it is safe to assume you won’t be.
More importantly, if you look through all the posts you will find one specific user near the end which is not an ordinary account.
Yeah I heard about that bit too. Which makes me think likes a popularity ties into the trust system a bit, which seems a bit shady but also really easily exploited for bots so a bad choice to tie that into the trust system.
It would be nice if Blizzard showed us some kind of progression bar. I post alot on the forums and the only thing I seem to be able to do is post more than 10 posts a day. . _.
I wouldn’t mind posting links and videos soon.
Yeah, its super inconsistent too, in Shadow’s post above there is a user near the end who only has 12 posts and about as much reading time as i have, and im sitting here on almost 50 posts now, and their only at 12 and they could post a video?
I don’t get it? Why can’t I post videos or links? This is so strange of a system! It feels like their account had the thing i suggested above “everyone has the option until found to abuse their links and images then they will have the option taken away if thats the case”
But I couldn’t post images and links since day one, so not like I lost my option to post or anything, what’s on the go? A progress bar would also be good too like it doesn’t tell us how we get it to go up or anything to cover their worries about exploitation, but it would be nice to see how close or far away we are.
Just make a discord, have a bunch of friend to like each other posts, play around this broken system otherwise keep making broken links with a missing dot, that should work enough.
I think the worst part is that nobody is telling us how the trust system works. We want to be considered trusted, but we have no idea how to go about getting there. I wish we got at least that much

This whole no links thing sucks, especially in the bug forum. I used to regularly post links with my bug reports on the old forums. Hoping there’s no penalty if you post altered links in new bug report forum

I got a response on my ticket guys and I was right - we’re not allowed to be posting links outside of the link detection, as they said they told me they cannot work around the link detection to allow me to post this image. Their probably a bit lediant on the other hand for when its used for bug report and stuff but just a heads up if you don’t have premission to use links and images you’re not supposed to be posting links and images.
