It’s a joke. And honestly by the time you’ve hit the ground it’s down to 3.
You can’t tell me in any way that isn’t unfairly balanced. Shadowstep almost has the same cooldown as Recall. Seriously who’s on the balance team? Because they gotta go.
Doing direct comparisons of individual abilities on heroes with entirely different kits like this is silly.
But yes, they are aware of Shadowstep’s flaws which is why he’s getting a small rework at some point.
It’s not silly though. If every character was paid attention to them the way Sombra has been, this’d be a much better game. And you say they’re working on a rework, but I’ve been hearing that for over a year at this point.
Reaper is tankier and has wraith form to fall back on. You can’t look at abilities in a vacuum, you need to factor in the whole kit.
Does need a buff though. Just make him teleport faster.
So every hero getting random nerfs and reworks for literally no reason? Mmmmk
It is very silly. You can’t compare one single aspect of two completely different heroes to determine how powerful one is compared to the other. You have to compare the whole kits.
Well said
Why does a hero who gets to pick her engagements and get any position she wants to for free also have the most forgiving escape cooldowns.
Honestly Sombras entire design is a dumpster fire, doesn’t matter how bad the OPs initial comparison is trying to defend Sombras design makes you look foolish
Because she does less damage, is more fragile, and needs more setup time. Again, you have to think about the whole kit.
At some point, it may as well be instant.
Incorrect, unless you’re conveniently ignoring her smaller hitbox, faster movement speed from stealth, 150 DMG hack virus combo, and the fact that the forgiving cooldowns means she has to spend less time getting into position than any other dps besides maybe pharah. " Who just ate a well deserved health nerf"
It’s part of what makes Sombra such a chore to play against you swat her down and she’s back in your backline 35s later. with Lucio I don’t mind cause wall ride is at least skill based.
You can’t defend the cheese queen m8
Without invis and hack, Sombra is strictly worse than Soldier. Soldier does more dps, similar burst but Soldier gets to do his all at once rather than over time so it’s better, Soldier has self-healing and Sombra doesn’t without camping a hacked health pack, and Soldier has considerably higher range (damage dropoff begins at 30 meters compared to 16, plus he has zero weapon spread and just has to deal with a bit of recoil). If you don’t maximize invis and hack, you’re a detriment to your team picking Sombra over Soldier or just about anyone else for that matter. Her sub-50% winrate makes it evident that the vast majority of the playerbase can’t use her effectively, so clearly it’s a skill issue if you lose to a Sombra.
are you comparing the value?
instant vs windup
reload vs no reload
second movement ability vs nothing else
Shall we continue?
You’d be doing angry modem noises if sombra had instant invulnerability when pressing translocator to teleport behind you with a full mag and say “nothing personnel kid”
PS: We can’t deny that the OW team has said time after time reaper is a hard hero to balance because if they try to make him viable in high level he will literally destroy low ranks. He’s in need for a rework.
That leprechaun has 250 hp with a hitbox like tracer how is she fragile
Can stay invisible and position for free.
If anything op was dumb comparing shadow step to tp.
Ger free passive invis is the shadow step.
If she has a pack nearby she is super tanky than reaper.
Don’t forget that Sombra TL can leave hard CC, which was also removed from Wraith for being “unfair.” Not to mention that she also gets to turn invisible faster, has a faster base movement speed, and isn’t stuck in an animation while teleporting away.
Alec is a Hog main, so I believe he holds some grudge from before when Reaper had a fair chance at killing Hog. Seems as if the entire team believes Reaper needs to be treated as a villain in both the story and the game.
Reaper does not have instant invulnerability in Shadow Step… He stands still for 2.7 seconds in the most telegraphed “headshot me please Senpai” pose in the game. He’s also fully visible, really loud, and extremely slow in Wraith form so even the other comparison falls apart. Not to mention Shadow Step is one of the most clunky abilities in the game and can easily get you killed because of a tracking bug on the TP.
Also TP doesn’t have reload. I don’t know where you got that idea from. Sombra does have 2 movement abilities, one of them being on nearly the entire time because it’s her passive.
So yes, let’s continue.
eep, thought we were talking wraith. mb.
Reaper possesses abilities that allow him to stay in the fight, whereas Sombra has nothing that enables her to do this. Both are close-range fighters, yet Sombra doesn’t have the extra HP that Reaper has.
Additionally, Sombra’s teleport has significant delays that can immediately lead to her death, which is absolutely unacceptable for an escape ability. The delay ranges from 0.25 seconds to 1.9 seconds. Furthermore, Reaper’s teleport is only used for movement and is therefore utilized before the fight. Sombra, however, needs her teleport during the fight because, as mentioned, she has no way to stay in the fight when things get tight!
The outrage over Sombra’s teleport is thus not justified. Due to her delayed teleport, Sombra is technically the hero with the lowest HP in the game when it comes to HP in close-range combat. She has nothing that helps her survive in combat compared to Reaper and Tracer.
Nice that you mention the virus + hack combo; it makes it easier to see that you have absolutely no idea. If you did, you would know that this combo is absolutely useless because the time to kill is actually increased rather than reduced. Also, past attempts to slow down Sombra didn’t work and would have needed enormous damage buffs to compensate.
No matter what you say, the statistics speak against you. It’s a skill issue.
Reaper is obsolete with Venture.
