Tracert Routing to UK while playing on west coast

Hey, I have been getting constant packet loss type issues such as double ghost firing on hitscans. I ran a tracert and it is jumping to an IP in the UK, even though I play on US west servers. Here is my WinMTR. Is there anything I can do on my end to help this issue?

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Locations for IPs are not updated often, sometimes displaying info that is over 5 years old. If you were routing to the UK from the West Coast, your ping would be much higher.

There’s no packet loss in this test (the 1% on your ISP hop doesn’t continue throughout), however, your home network has an issue.

This is the ping between your PC and the router/modem. The value I marked above shouldn’t be more than 10-12ms at worst, but it’s 226ms. This would explain the in-game behavior you’re experiencing. Are you playing on WiFi? If so, you may want to switch to a cable.

Thank you, didn’t even notice that. Probably the router supplied by the ISP to blame, I had the same issues on a wired connection as well.

Yeah, they recycle junk at most ISPs. I’m about to go switch my modem out because it’s responding slowly, too.
