She does not bring value to a team if you’re gold or lower rank. Something needs to be done or why would anyone new to the game play as her if she’s near impossible to land kills?
She’s a high skill hero. Trust me, if you actually get good at her she will literally run circles around a bronze lobby.
She’s never been a viable pick beneath diamond, and I don’t think that should change personally. At the moment however, she’s not viable beneath GM (more specifically I think beneath T500), but that’s more a symptom of the exorbitant sustain in the game, which has been crept without consideration of long-term balance implications.
Blizzard may eventually address the sustain creep problem, or they’ll just revert some Tracer nerfs and the power creep cycle will begin again. They’ll probably do the latter, since that’s the lazier and inferior approach.
I kinda thought she was fine until they increased her damage falloff for some unknown reason a couple seasons back. But I agree with you more for the most part.

Not new to the game, new to fps in general, her problem is people target acquisition skill, every blink, every recall requires you to reacquire the target that time adds up, then next it is weaving in a way that your unpredictable most are not cause anyone that isn’t tracer needs to hit you less then you need to hit them…
Only way to fix her would be to make you automatically face your target after blink, that delay with where she loses her edge, recall is another 1 anyone with basic counting second skill knows where she will recall to… you would fix that by changing recall so instead of fixed 3 seconds make it rng 2-4 seconds… I luv watching a tracer retreat or die after recall because she is either dead or is back down to 20% health again

She’s always been a bad pick in bronze-gold probably even worse right now due to the current state of things and in plat she’s pretty meh. She only starts seeing value in diamond and above but right now I feel like she only gets value in top 500. A lot of heal creep and overall strength of the support role just makes it incredibly difficult to get anything done for me as a masters tracers.
i love tracer, i can force most of the squishies to chase me, i can mark tanks before they dive, i can incinerate tanks after dive which isn’t healthy for my hp as they have a lot of close range cleave, i can demolish flank supports, i can get to peoples backs like d.va, i can spawn kill, i can pincer.
there’s virtually never a time where i say to myself “ wow there’s not a single thing on the enemy team i can’t kill”.
i feel like even in higher ranks she’s not that good. one clicked by one too many heroes
to be fair i can run circles around bronze lobbys as moira or ana so not the big of an acomplishment
Got a tracer 4K Today and it was very satisfying. A pocketed tracer is a problem, and Nano tracer is absolutely broken. She isn’t as good but she sure is fun
If tracer gets buffed, she’ll just become another genji/sojourn when they were overtuned and make half of the DPS roster useless. That’s the issue with 5v5, flankers are susceptible to becoming overpowered if you buff them even a tiny bit. But I agree that she’s much harder to play now in lower ranks in 5v5 compared to her OW1 days. But then again, tracer was arguably the strongest hero back in OW1, so we’re comparing over-powered tracer to now

dude to be fair bronze and silver players are playing a completely different game from masters and gm players. i do vod reviews for them and the stuff that works and doesn’t is wild so to balance around them would make master and gm player suffer while no real changes to gm and masters has effected the vod reviews i have seen
She is one of the main reasons for sustain-creep. Her and the other burst damage characters caused it to happen, the refusal to rework her and the other problematic burst heroes is what allowed sustain to “get much worse”.
You could easily see it with Mauga, over 600 hp and if he isn’t constantly pocketed, he gets completely annihilated almost-instantly. Extreme burst is also a problem in this game and it always has been, the issue is that they still haven’t reworked/nerfed that issue.

Exactly, that’s what im saying. The game is completely different, and therefore giving a high skill hero a buff for Bronze would completely break them up top.
exactly and its why i belive in trickled down blance you blance from top down because the people who know they heros best is top players not josh in accounting who plays 5 games a week
Plat and lower don’t exactly have efficient APM.
You need that for tracer.
