Tracer and D.Va take up 40% of the top 500

(This thread is now outdated, but still relevent, is -100dmg on Tracer’s ult really a lot when it kills squishes more than it does tanks? Meanwhile, more nerfs against the things that counter Tracer…)

So why is D.Va the only one with the nerf?

Dont get me wrong, Bully D.Va was an overpowered build, but tracer has always been overpowered, and all you keep doing by nerfing supports and adding dive, just buffs Tracer.strong text

Because Tracer is the pwecious widdle baby

Tracer is arguably the hero with the highest skill ceiling. She’s going to get picked a lot. That doesn’t mean there’s an issue with her.

For example, Winston, D.Va, and Zen all have higher pick rates this stage in Overwatch League than Tracer does. Should we nerf Winston?

I’d assume because balancing decisions are made on more than the composition of the top 500.

Just a guess though.

Winston’s shield buff is what caused dive to blow up like it did.

Probably because D.VA is OP in all levels of play? Contrary to many claims, Blizzard do not balance the game with only the pros and Top 500 in mind.

If D.va doesn’t defense matrix Winston his personal shield won’t save him.

Highest Skill ceiling is simply another Term for non-balanced kit. Just about every other kit has something you have to fight with, especially in higher tiers. Some more than others. Tracers is just an example of a CSGO P90 rush pushed to its limits.

It gets even sadder when you consider that there are only so few healers/tanks in the game and so much DPS (offense + defense), yet one single DPS gets picked way higher than anyone else.

If you want to get rid of dive, yes.

Widowmaker is, that’s why they’re in the fewest. When you see a good one, absolute focus and picks are required for her.

I don’t see anything wrong with that. That’s teamwork. That’s the way you counter Tracer, too.

So? Why do you care who is in the top 500? In most levels of play Zen is a lot stronger than Tracer, that’s just a fact.

Widow has to master Aim and Positioning. Tracer has to master Aim, Positioning, Cooldown Management, Movement, Gamesense, etc.

Because it proves what we assumed from third party data.

Tracer is integral to everything between OWL, all the way down into Diamond.

And being a master aim is significantly harder to do on Widow and holds significantly more risk than Tracer. You are trying too hard against the obvious truth.

Nope, just cooldown management.
Tracer gets healing, burst damage in the form of 1/2 clipping the supports and clipping almost everyone else who isnt a tank. She relies on a mastery of the SIMPLEST skills, not the more advanced ones, and thats why her kit not having a limit makes her overpowered. If you NEVER have to fight the kit, the kit isnt balanced. Everyone else has to worry about cooldown management, save for Genji’s dash getting a refund and Orisa getting a shield about as fast as it takes to break her previous.

not true dive was a thing as soon as triple tank ended you just had to watch apex to see this

How am I trying too hard? Literally only post in this topic and just stated my view.

Yes, while aim is harder for widow, she’s also in the back-back line, and gets to focus on aim while not being in action. Tracer has to simutaneously focus on all of these while being in the middle of a fight.

I don’t get it, i rarely get a good tracer in my games, dvas i get daily but god tracers are almost non existant in my games.
