So I have a theory about Tracer’s guns: it seemms to me, that her reloading is just “bullets going back in time” - back into her guns. So she uses the same ammo over and over again. Her reloading mechanism looks very similar to her chrono - thing. What do you guys think?

This theory already exists in a number of fanfictions.
But it is definitely a plausible explanation. Maybe only the energy is brought back, since it is not classic ammunition but energy, which amounts to the same thing.

I assumed Tracer was using energy weapons, but time-travelling bullets is probably a cooler idea.

I can’t compare it now but if recall uses similar vfx it is actually highly possible.
I had the impression they are using some Winston tech

I wonder if OW2 will have an upgrade where you recall the bullets from the enemy, dealing damage a second time.

That’s the general theory among the Tracer playerbase. It’s a chronal accelerator effect allowing her guns to return back to a state in time when they were still full of ammo.

Maybe Tracer’s guns shoot tachyons.
That’s a cool concept I had never thought about with her guns. It makes perfect sense too.

so i guess tracer is all about “back to the future” time travel. maybe her ride is a antique DeLorean
i always assumed it was a mini nuclear reactor or something that used the part where they pop out and spin to cool down. it looks like a much smaller version of the tech thats in orisa’s gun
It is meant like that, but the question is, why does the damage on the targets stay, when the bullets travel back in time?
Tracer can only affect her self (and her things?) during time triveling. Her surroundings doesn’t change.

Beacause the targets being shot aren’t rewinding. It’s just the projectile.

Simple: If I shoot you then pull the bullet out of your wound to shoot you again, you get two shot wounds.
i remember reading about time travel somewhere and if it was ever possible then you would need a spaceship since the earth is moving at 492,126 miles per hour through space. so if even for a second you might yourself out in deep space from exact spot you left when you time traveled

I also thought so.
But it would be disgusting if bullets from someone’s face came back.
And on the other hand, Winston, Mercy and Zarya can also reload just by spinning something in their weapon.
You would not be able to see it…I mean, when Tracer recalls, she basicly disappears in one blink. Only in cinematic, it was made slower, so we would be able to see the whole process…I belive it´s instant.
Winston and Zarya use some kind of energy, that needs to be charged I guess…
It would still happen if you see it or not.
