Ok so I have been playing tracer and i have more than 300 hours on both of my accounts combined.
I have noticed that no matter how good of a tracer you are and how much picks you get unless your team takes advantage of your openings your efforts are for nothing.
for example in some games my team is really good they keep the enemy busy fighting them and i sneak behind the enemy while they are busy fighting my team and i take down their healers or low health dps and we win the team fight.
Sometimes the enemy team is good at killing tracer they always be careful from behind so i don’t come and kill them they keep looking behind so i always engage seconds before my team so while two of the enemy are busy chasing me in the halls my team is 5 vs 4 their team. At that moment it doesn’t matter if the two enemies have killed me my team had already won the fight.
Here is what i don’t understand happens sometimes in games is there are three enemy teams chasing me and mercy is pocketing the dps that is chasing me and my team loses a 5 vs 4 team fight.
sometimes i haven’t engaged the enemy team from behind our freaking Reinhardt dies instantly as soon as the fight starts and then the second one follows and i am stuck with 1 dps chasing me while being pocketed by mercy.
i have no idea how to deal with this when it happens and it happens constantly in a game which frustrates the hell out of me.
Depends on if Ults were used. I just had a game on Busan where i got 2 picks and pushed in, because i assumes we got the advantage. Turned out that just in that moment our Rein got barraged by the enemy Pharah and our Doom was running into a Hog hook.
No, the heroes that relies most on the team, are support and tank heroes, all of them. They can’t carry for the life of it, they can create space or heal damage but they have no carrying potential on their own.
Bronze, what’s that? Oh right, you’re one of those that think your arguments are more valid if you’re rank shaming? Right, argument lost before it even got started
I disagree. There are some tanks and some supports who cant carry, but there are others which certainly can. Ana is a prime exampel which can carry the game. Sleep dart to disable ultimates. Anti-nade to take the enemy healers out of the game. Shooting flying heroes like Echo, Pharah and Mercy out of the sky. Building nano fast and combo it for almost guarenteed won teamfight.
Rein can carry with well timed shatters and knowing who and when to charge.
You can incapacitate heroes but in the end you’re relying on DPS heroes to finish them of. You can create space and pick off someone, but in the end you’re relying on others to finish the job.
Well its a teamgame. Of course you have to rely on others to a certain extend. “Carrying” means in this context that you by yourself can put your team at a decent advantage. It doesnt mean you can win 1v6 all by yourself. If you could, the hero you play would be busted.
Thats because he is truly team dependent hero
He need constant help from supports and other tank, with dps dmg contesting other team dps to push other team out and not die moment he is out of cover.
this is the reason why tanks are important, they are the ones supposed to stay on point because they are the best at standing on point.
dps merely skews the favor of fights.
if your tanks dies it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to stay on the point or take the point and as such you just wasted your time running around accomplishing not much of anything.
This all comes down to team comp I think. You gotta find the win condition for your team (it could be block enemy supports, disable enemy flankers, burn enemy shields, etc depends - whatever gives the enemy team the most agency)
I’m not saying you’re a bad Tracer or playing her wrong but maybe…
Maybe your tanks are dying cuz they aren’t getting healing, and they aren’t getting healing cuz your supports are constantly flanked, and they are constantly flanked cuz they do not have peeling.
Somtimes flanking enemies in their backline is not what your team needs to win, sometimes your team needs only shield busters or peelers to win, a Mcree next to supports to stun flankers, maybe the roles and the comp of your team is trash and has zero advantage against the enemy team (like a Genji going into Moira/brig/Winston)…
If your flanks on supports aren’t paying of consistently during a fight, try doing something else…
Cuz you can’t change how your teammates play, but you can change how you play and what you do about the problem at hand.
i think reinhardt is one of the best solo queue heroes there are, and i also think he’s one of the hardest heroes in the game, but it’s bad to generalize, a GM on lower ranks will hardcarry with whatever role just because he’s that much better than lower skill players, i had this one GM reinhardt in my team at a diamond skill level some time ago that by himself and his calls he almost single handedly made us win against another team with 2 smurfs. (pocket + dps)
300 minutes Tracer here, there is a lot of happenstance why simply distract 2, 3 enemies won’t work, it’s target priority. While you might have done your job, the same thing would also happen to your team: enemy Genji/Doom is also wreaking havock on your backline and your team also send 2, 3 people to deal with it. That or your team doesn’t have a shield and they can’t get pass the enemy 2 shields to take advantage of your opening. That or your team doesn’t know you have successfully distracted more than 1 enemy, communicate with them will help.
So maybe it’s a positioning issue that you can take advantage of, position yourself somewhere in the middle that you can over see both the enemy and your team, you should be able to pull back to kill their flankers, while you can also go in the enemy backline when opportunity arises. That way even your wayward team can see what you are doing and can back you up (remember they can only see your shihoulette running away from the point, they can’t see how many enemies chasing you. Without their Tracer, they don’t want to commit to a perceived 5v6)
With that said, low elos are all about massive healing and massive damage out put, tactical heroes like Sombra, Tracer feel much less valuable than a hard hitter like Ashe, McCree, Soldier who can constantly pump out damage. By the time Tracer get into position your team may already be dead under heavy fire.
