Literally the thing the devs have asked you to do for several seasons. Why did you need to make a topic that says you ll finally do what they have asked?

The problem is there is no definition of what “toxic” is. SO, basically if you hurt someones feelings, it’s automatically toxic and this is the only game with the most jacked reporting system ever.

It helps them know what is toxic or not by adding a note on your reports. For example, XQC reporting people and just writing “**** you” in the report doesn’t help at all. Write a note like “(insert player) admitted that he/she was throwing”. It will increase the likelihood of action being taken against them.

I make more reports then I do play this game, The sad part is no matter how nice I am to others I keep getting the scum of the barrel. And it ruins teams and makes me spend 20 mins after matches giving clear and honest reports, Do us a favor please blizzard crack down on these problems.

The reason reporting doesn’t seem to work is because “toxic” players don’t exist in the majority.

However, the “community” does nothing but report people trying to win the game. Make a suggestion or call out bad comps or actions - and it’s “toxic”. The only real fix is to remove communication 100% - but how does that help?

Instead, games are full of team mates who can’t even communicate if they wanted to because of “toxic chat”. So everyone just gave up.

Instead of complaining like small children, you should watch, learn, listen, and accept. Otherwise, you just place the “toxicity” in your own head.

So we are forced to take verbal and written harassment from these people, I’m sorry I don’t put up with it. I guess I’m lucky to hear voice chat harassment everytime I join a game, Tell me how this is fair?

I report no one for anything. It is really petty to report someone in a video game if they are not cheating/hacking.

You are half the problem if you don’t report these people. Without reports, people like this will stay in the game and damage others’ gameplay experience. Games are all about fun after all, and reporting these toxic people helps to keep the game “fun”

Why report toxicity will never leave games like this. You are not taking into account human nature and the game design. For these two reason’s game will always be extremely toxic. “Shower upon him every earthly blessing, drown him in bliss so that nothing but bubbles would dance on the surface of his bliss, as on a sea…and even then every man, out of sheer ingratitude, sheer libel, would play you some loathsome trick. He would even risk his cakes and would deliberately desire the most fatal rubbish, the most uneconomical absurdity, simply to introduce into all this positive rationality his fatal fantastic element…simply in order to prove to himself that men still are men and not piano keys.” - Fyodor Dostoyevsk

I never said it would get rid of all toxicity, but only decrease the amount of toxicity.

It will not decrease it. Game is toxic. Gold medals cause people to think they are doing amazing when they are not. Example rein getting double pocketed never using shield but gets gold dmg loses game. He will do the same next game cuz he got gold dmg. Morias only dpsing but they got gold elims so rest of team is trash. Players getting chat banned for asking people to switch heroes then tilts team because they are not communicating. No aim heros providing huge value while high skill heroes like ana are easily countered and provide little value because of character design and high skill floor. One tricks that will never be banned. All this leads to more and more straws the constantly break the camels back. I think you should treat what is causing the illness and not just mask the symptoms.

Potentially you should go through OP’s post history as carefully as you did mine and scrutinize his in the same way. Maybe then you will understand why my cold and flippant response. I was hardly trolling.

“hi”

“reported”

what.

Will search net for various definitions of toxic.

Urban Dictionary:

“Toxic is a group of people who are rude and can’t be nice. They are not true to people around them. They need an attitude check. Their personalities are so unappealing its make the people around them suffer and turn rude as well. Beware of toxics!”

PsychCentral:

“According to Gale, it’s common for people with toxic behavior to: create drama in their lives or be surrounded by it; try to manipulate or control others; be needy (“it is all about them all the time”); use others to meet their needs (such as “narcissistic parents”); be extremely critical of themselves and others; be jealous and envious of others, bemoaning their bad fortune and others’ good fortune; abuse substances or harm themselves in other ways, and be unwilling (or unable) to seek help from loved ones, a therapist or a recovery program.”

Steam Community (CS:GO):

"Here is what a toxic player REALLY is:

  1. Someone complaining on teamates, over things his teamates cant do anything about, making it unnesecary flaming.
  2. Someone who is constantly griefing, damaging, or missusing chat.
  3. A player who can never take the blame on himself.
  4. An abusive player.

Here is what people THINK toxic means:

  1. Someone who writes in CAPS.
  2. Someone who gets angry.
  3. Someone that spamms info.
  4. Someone that uses voice chat(yeah im thinking wtf too)"

League of Legends Community:

“Atm it used for a quite large amount of behaviours such as flaming, blaming and trolling.
The actions of a certen individual which actively or passivly decrease the teammoral and performance are considered toxic. A toxic person is also able to bring up negative behaviour in other/neutral people.
A toxic enviroment results in less teamplay and usually lost lategame as people distrust each other.
So basically toxic discribes all possible offenses in one word.”

League of Legends Reddit:

“I call my team mates pieces of sh*t all the time when they make horrible plays that cost the game. I mean, what else can you say at the brink of defeat when your team gets caught out for no reason? I’m sure there are many summoners who give their team mates crap, especially at the end of the game. Honestly, I do it too, and I see it in almost every game. But where is the line drawn between being toxic and being a normal human being? How does Riot diagnose a toxic player? I’m sure if swearing at your team mates is considered “toxic”, then a majority of summoners would have chat restrictions and/or bans. I’m curious to know where the line is drawn whether it may be if a summoner were to attack someone’s personal life, or maybe even issue death threats.”

Hope this helps. Will make a thread on it.

This game is no place for adults who want to win. It’s full of troll kids and no-life losers who like to ruin other peoples day by playing ranked, trolling, and getting a kick out of it. The only way to play is with your own 6 stack. That is the way to experience it. Any MM is garbage and random. Just lock comms off, and use it for practice. Even then you will get reported by these people but… who cares.

Focus on improving yourself please. Telling others to improve is a lot less useful and fruitful than improving yourself no one is perfect and often people have different personalities and lack in some areas and have strengths in areas where others do not.

Yes. I improve myself each and everytime I play. I don’t have negative thoughts, I just try to do my best each match, even if we lose.

I’ve been reporting toxic players (as well as trolls, throwers, & smurfs) on Xbox since the reporting system was added.

Probably 2-3 reports per match on average.

I’ve had a grand total of 2 notifications telling me a report was actioned.

I see the same toxic players, trolls, throwers, & smurfs in match after match on Xbox.

Nothing is being done about these players.

The devs can ask all they want, but so long as the reporting system remains automated nothing will be done about them.

The game itself creates toxicity because it doesn’t punish bad team players. The “toxicity will not be tolerated” attitude of blizzard is nothing but hypocrisy because they are not doing anything to promote team players.
