Just had a match with one of the most toxic players I’ve ever met.
I’ll list all the things they did:
- Blamed own teammates for losing, multiple times throughout the whole match.
- Eventually, singled out a teammate to pin the loss on and insult, multiple times, a teammate who was doing perfectly fine.
- Gave up and started mulling around, refusing to heal or attack enemies.
- Repeatedly said “it’s just qp” so it “doesn’t matter” what they do or how they act.
- Purposely died repeatedly to spectate own team’s Sombra and disclose their location to enemy team repeatedly, sabotaging them. (I was Sombra)
- Admitted they’ve done this before, been banned several times and just keep making new accounts.
- Challenged us to report them, saying they think it’s funny and they’ll just come back with a new account.
This is why toxicity is so rampant, because it’s incredibly easy to just make a new account after you’re suspended and keep playing. Nobody is scared of the repercussions, and it seems most toxic players don’t even play on their main when they act like this.
Also, lots of people don’t even care when someone acts like this. A few people in the match (including someone on our own team) agreed with the toxic player that “it’s just qp” and it doesn’t matter what they do or how they behave.
And I’m not even sure what Blizzard could even do about this. If they go harsher, people that don’t deserve it will be caught up in the system and unfairly punished.
It sucks.
In case anyone calls me a liar, here’s screenshot proof:

This is not witchhunting, it is just to prove that it actually happened.
You can’t tell me to “just turn off chats, ez” because they literally sabotaged us.

Nothing they can will stop people being toxic in a competitive FPS game… can easily turn off all chats n not join vc… easy peasy lemon mf squeezy
Maybe then we get less forum rants abt people getting their feeli gs hurt by someone that doesnt know them on a personal level feom the internet.

Someone didn’t read the whole thing.
This person literally sabotaged us and made us lose on purpose.
I wouldn’t have made this post if they just said “u stink” and “ez”.
They made us lose, knowing that if we all report them and they get banned, they can just come back and we can’t do anything about it.
Purposely sabotaging a game is not a matter of “being too sensitive” or “a whiny snowflake”. They sabotaged the whole match for 4 other people.

That won’t stop people from having their matches sabotaged by this person, but on the forums it will certainly stop me from seeing your bad takes.
Whilst I understand the sentiment of mute, report, move on (and I agree that those actions are the correct ones.) I understand why this vent thread was made because this sounds like an extreme case.
That person in OP’s game threw their toys out the pram, dear god what an absolute child
This doesn’t just sound like ‘some rando said mean things’ they went out of their way to sabotage the game for everyone else.
On the bright side, OP: the person from your game can indeed keep making new accounts, but they’ll also keep getting them perma’d because their personality absolutely sucks.
Try not to let people like that grind you down. There are far more perfectly emotionally well balanced players than weirdos.

Yes cuz no one else has ever had to deal with throws n sabotage dix in the game. Dealt with plenty of those… i just dnt go to forums abt it since nothing is gonna be done. I get it people need to vent… but seeing the consistent “The need to do something abt the toxic players in this game” forum posts are getting old and tiring
Yes block report move on… Also turn off ur chats. Dnt have to deal with it if u can see or hear it. Doesnt matter how many times said person gets ban or muted. They always come back.
Not like we can just kick them from game… only options u have are deal with or leave the gamr entirely… granted leaving puts u a step closer to leaver penalty… but thats what u get when people.cried abt leavers… so ultimately the choice will be urs to either suck it up deal n report the person n move on or take a step closer to that leaving penalty

I understand the burnout of seeing repetitive posts. If I didn’t want to read a thread I wouldn’t go into it because I only have so much energy in a given day.
If I get someone like the person in OP’s game, I just report and stick it out. No point in leaving because then my team would have to to deal with a leaver and a saboteur in the same game. One of them I can’t do anything about, the other is entirely in my sphere of influence.

I honestly would not have believed you without the screenshots. I have seen some real human garbagio in this game, but this is just lowkey pathetic. I almost feel sorry for them.
My leader, I’ve seen this countless times, and that actually looks a lot less vulgar than I thought it would be. Still, yes very pathetic and not representative of an Enlightened One.

Not because it is vulgar. I meant a real, living, and breathing human being actually tried to call out Sombra’s position in text chat. That’s so utterly impractical. The second you type where they are, she could just reposition. Imagine wasting your time doing THAT! It is just completely unhinged…
And people wonder why no one communicates in this game anymore.

That sounds like mental illness. Ignore and report.

Dude, this has been happening since 2017
As some said, just report that weirdo and move on.

Here the thing
Blizzard is currently banning more players than ever before
but the catch is
the overwhelming majority of players being banned are players who were false reported by toxic players like you are describing here

Unfortunately people like this exist, it was definitely an immature kid or worse, an adult throwing a tantrum. All you can do is report, turn off chat, block and move on.
Unfortunately this is becoming more and more common.
I just got out of a game where 5 people were deliberately throwing the match. 4 on my team, 1 on the enemy team.
The 1 person on their team was their tank, who literally refused to do anything. He’d just sit out in the open, doing nothing for the entire game. No damage, only a bit of mitigation by throwing his shield around himself to prevent his own death.
The 4 on my team? Because despite being 1 tank down, my team members deliberately avoided capping the point. Sure they were engaging the enemy, but none of them were attempting to win the game. At all. And it should have been an easy win. But nope, even when there was only the enemy Illari on the point and they killed her, they refused to cap it, and wouldn’t contest the point when the enemy team moved back onto it.
Sadly, when games go F2P, this type of ‘gameplay’ becomes more common because there are no repercussions that are meaningful.

each competitive game get his toxic players (R6, CS:GO when we get so much braindead players, fortnite, and worst of that, League of legends). If a game means “if you lost, you fall and lost point”, the toxicity is here.
Overwatch gets this thing, so don’t expect to play a “teletubbies” world on this game.
if you see a thrower, just massive report and continue to play. That’s all. They don’t care, just report them and continue.
I wonder if blizzard can apply a material ban to resolve this (barely)
Just turn off the computer bro

heres your participation trophey
All you can do is Avoid as Teammate but, 100% report them for text/voice chat and AFK team sabotage too. Obviously, a spoiled brat Zoomer whose parents have failed them to teach right/wrong. Maybe eventually, they will get bored of having to keep creating accounts and move on to a different game.
